Ludicrous Speed mounts - about time for another?

    Interesting. How about putting it for sale on the vendor then. You'd have to beat the event so you could maintain the elitism of being a raider, not only that you'd have to beat a number of events to get enough currency, but now you wouldn't have to go back and do 5 year old content for players who didn't get it when it was current. Maybe all live raiders DID get it, I don't know, I play on a TLP and TLP moves too fast to have time to go backwards to farm certain items for every single raider.

    Could someone link a good writeup if a few groups want to have a go at VP raid mount (and there is a rare guild trophy worth getting too, I think?).

    Any strat advice if attempting with smaller group? I assume Fire immune mobs are prevalent.

    Thanks for this list. Turns out I cannot get any raids from the NPC who gives those three VP raids. So, perhaps the flagging requirements are still in place for VP raids? (i have done all group progression but have 0 raids). Allah lists three raid seals (each require 18 or more raids with more prerequisites, so something like 60+ raid required if i understand that correctly?). That would seem absurd.

    I was able to get the Skyfire raid expedition from the NPC next to him, but that apparently only requires group progression.

    Edit: The VP raid NPC did tell me to "speak with the Stormsinger fellow" (VP partisan NPC in Skyfire), but visiting Stormsinger and going through his text didn't help or change anything with the VP raid NPC. I have already done Stormsingers' 3 quests and have them checked off on achieves.

    Have you tried? Genuinely curious. What were the barriers for 1 group to do it? I haven't tried.

    Might try it this weekend just to see.

    I have not, Coirnav is focused strongly on getting to Mearatas at this time so I doubt we're going back anytime soon if ever, we're also still lvl 110 and only 1 expansion removed from RoS.
    On Coirnav at least these raids reward 3 tokens per event so while you probably need a bunch of wins its not quite as many as it seems. But that was one of my points, its not necessarily as easy as just spending an hour or two doing 1 event, its locked behind the entire expansion's worth of raid flagging.

    Should getting the BEST POSSIBLE mount be as easy as spending an hour or two doing an event?

    Probably not.

    So 2-3 groups can do it today, but not one group. In other words, "My box group cannot easily obtain the fastest mount in the game so I want a way so that I can have the fastest mount in the game for my box group".

    No. Not everyone can have everything in game. And no, something as unique as a 85 velocity mount should not be on every character easily. I am a raider in a high end guild, and I don't have it. Many don't and they survive with their 75 velocity mount.

    Go make some friends, do the raid, get a mount that way. It is available to everyone. You just want a quick and easy way for your box group. Sorry.

    As the game goes on, more stuff gets added, more stuff becomes more accessible, I don't really see the issue with having a 2nd fastest mount in game since the first one has been (and might still be, some conflicting reports on flagging in this thread) locked behind a ton of raid flagging for over 5 years.

    I have done the raid, so has my 1 box, multiple times I was just not lucky enough to get the mount. I don't run a full group, was just supplying additional reasons why it would be beneficial to make things more accessible for some people.
  11. SteamFox Augur

    Initially no, once upon a time the SSRA/ Seru mounts were the fastest in the game. Years later we can spin up an AoC and solo them. I was merely suggesting maybe the time has come for the Talendor mount to be more accessible as well, it has been years since it came out.
  12. Cadira Augur

    To clarify, I think you need a requester that has all the raid clickies AND group progression to GRAB the raid but I believe they removed the flags needed to PARTICIPATE in the raid.

    And no one is saying that we can't add new versions of the mount with this speed just that it should stay as raid level content and not be added as group level content.

    Sure but they have also added a lot of other fast mounts in the game. If at some point they add even faster mounts it might change what levels you can get this one at.

    As an aside. Seru and Emp aren't the only ways to get a 75 speed mount.

    SoL =>75
    PoP => None
    LoY => Drogmor (Casino)
    LDoN => None
    GoD => None
    DoN => None
    DoDH => None
    PoR => Ghostrider
    TSS => None*
    TBS => Corrupted Drogmor
    SoF => None
    SoD => Imperial Sokokar + Shiny Roboboar (anniversary + TSS raid drop)
    UF => Queen Cliknar + Master of UF
    HoT => None/ Whirligig (Anniversary)
    VoA => Selyrah (Master of Alaris)
    RoF => None
    CoTF => None
    TDS => None
    TBM => Pridwing (Mirror Master)
    EoK =>Golden Rhino (Tsaph champion)
    RoS => Stonegazer (Scalebreaker)
    TBL => Efreeti Carpet (Burinator)
    ToV => Griffon (Icebreaker)
    CoV => Jakelope (The Frozen One)
    ToL => Golden Owlbear (Defender of Blood)
    NoS => Shik'nar (Night's Avenger)

    *TSS => None/Roboboar upgrade (Claim combined w/ lower raid drop)
    SoD+ => Gnomish Hover Transport (Overseer)

    RoS and beyond all have a 75 speed mount (or two) for getting the Collector's edition or higher.

    There's the Heritage crate mounts and several LoN mounts, but they're random gambling packs.. so meh.

    So unlike the Imprisoned Sokokar, there was a continued method to get a 75 speed mount as EQ progressed. They stayed primarily raid-bound up until UF, though the Shiny Roboboar was doable w/o a raid by then, and the Glowing Drogmor Drums just needed plat and/or Loyalty tokens(HoT).

    Looking at the 75 speed mount, there ought to be one alternative method for obtaining an 85 speed mount... and the next raid version would be due next year. I know the expansions don't track specifically 1:1 but given current resources, etc..

    Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying!

    Guess i have to choose between running the 20 or so raids required to get VP raid access or badgering a raid flagged person to do the VP raid requests a bunch of times.

    We have been doing VP monthly on an off-raid night for achievements (riding one mainly on Hoshkar) and for the trophy for some of the guilds in our alliance.The bridle is a bonus.

    Hoshkar needs more than 2-3 groups unless you had the perfect makeup. You will end up with lots of adds, not to mention the vortexes which can easily overlap. Try it without any bards or enchanters (we usually have 1 enchanter and 0 bards) and you will notice that it isn't the easiest of the 3.

    The other 2 events are easier from our viewpoint, especially Talandor.

    Also knights should get a new mount next expansion with ludicrous speed.

    They did. It was the only way I could talk our guild into going back and farming it. I don’t have a toon to verify that it can be requested without progression but there is no gimping in everyone can zone in once dz is assigned.

    I never even knew about these super mounts i though ghost bridle was fastest. guess there no trade on fv otherwise would see some for sell. Selo's speed would be pretty cool they need to add some in the future be a good marketplace mount but then they make $$$ and you know they dont like that haha.

    That one would be perfect for ludicrous speed:
