Is there any legal addon for DPS display in the game?

What is the current status of such tools as in 2023?
If its legal - could you suggest me some modern and WORKING one?

I noticed you have asked about a couple things and the validity of using them in the game. I would like to point out that the answers you are getting are from other players and subject to interpretation - be it right or maybe wrong. If it is wrong then its not going to do you any good to claim you were told it was ok by one of the posters.

The best way to figure it all out is to read what the Red Names have provided to us for clarification of:

If it functions solely by parsing logs, which is the case for every damage meter that I know of, then it's not interacting with the game client in any way and therefore doesn't violate any rules. That's literally why logs exist, to be read.

I'd go with EQ Log Parser
    https://github.com/kauffman12/EQLogParser

Gives a nice overlay of DPS in game (note that programs like this or GINA don't interact with the EQ client directly and just read the data from your log file to provide you the information, so its not an addon like in WoW)

EQ Log Parser is the best and least buggy between it and gamparse. Both are legal and even advertised on these forums with a full thread dedicated to it. It doesn't modify EQ in any way, so it's not a problem.

An active thread makes it neither legal nor advertised, DBG will not endorse any 3rd party program. Doesn't mean its (currently) a risk, there are no provisions for any 3rd party programs or activities. EULA used to say log parsers, it no longer does.

As per their eula and forum rules:
"please refrain from discussing suspensions, bans, and/or specific third-party programs related to cheating. These types of discussions are not permitted on our public forums or in our official Discord channels."

We can literally openly talk about, discuss and promote both parsers. If it was against ToS or Eula, then we wouldn't be able to have dedicated threads to downloading said parsers. Much less openly talk about it by name.

Log parsers do not fit into any illegal terms stated by the ToS or Eula. True, EQ owners have not explicitly stated "EQ Log Parser is fine" the same way as they won't say a mouse with multiple buttons is fine. Could that mouse be perceived as cheating through hardware? While technically yes, the realistic answer is no.

Weird how some want to make something seem illegal that DBG actually doesnt give a crap about.

In fact they have literally fixed bugs that impinge on the ability to parse.

    Did not say illegal.

The EULA used to have a provision of allowed activity saying parsing was allowed, there no longer is and players can no longer definitively say what is allowed. Something can be tolerated and neither legal nor illegal.

Yes there is nothing in the TOS saying we cannot talk about 3rd party programs in general, but it doesn't make it legal activity. They havent stated "EQ Log Parser is fine" but they have in the past stated "log parsing is fine", which has gone away.

Realistically nothing today covers log parsing as cheating, but it does not preclude anyone from getting accidentally caught up in the anti-cheat.

Again, they have fixed bugs specifically to improve parsing ability. They literally support it.

Use third party tools that interact with the game in any way at your own risk.

Just like real life, there are laws on the books that never get enforced in Everquest. This does not mean they never will, or cannot enforce the rules. To best understand, read the EULA carefully, the one that you've signed digitally in order to play this game. Have a lawyer interpret the jargon you don't understand, and then, you'll have a real answer.

Players who use these tools religiously, CONSTANTLY argue with, and shout down any post made on these forums that even implicitly decries the use of third party programs. i find that purposefully misleading. They can have examples and charts and cite things developers have said or done, but none of that matters legally. If DBG or whichever company owns this game in the future decides to discipline your account for using such things, and you want to sue them over it, good luck with that.

While i believe chances are quite slim that your account would be disciplined for a log parser, do not be fooled into thinking those chances are zero, or that there is any legal documentation supporting that claim.

There are no rules on the books against parsing. If you think there is, I challenge you to link to and post the text that you think supports that claim.

lol. it's like you type it, and it appears.
