The /autoskill popup message and in game email still appears when a non-caster character hits level 61. With the recent patch, should probably move the message to level 2 (?) or some other lower level to let people know.
Since we now get autoskill at low level this message and the code to detect the lvl and do the in game announcement and email no longer need to be there.
When the PC does turn level 61 the window with the information that the character can now use /autoskill does still pop up but autoskill can be used much earlier.
autoskill is now quality of lifed at level one. They did not remove the level 60 autopopup. It is in error.
The problem is that new players do not know about autoskill. The popup window is alright but it should pop now at lvl 10 or 20 instead of lvl 61 to inform the players about the existence of that feature. The same should be done with the bard's melody command.
With it being level one, there should be a popup like there are for level 5 origin, 6 experience deaths, etc. Likewise for Veteran reward AAs. It would be nice to have a welcome new character screen that even timelines these. All these great things without fanfare, should have some...fanfare.
Recently, /autoskill was opened up for all. However, upon dinging level 61, one still receives a popup saying: You can now use the /autoskill ability... This can probably be removed at this point.

Thanks for linking that thread. Yeah, the popup should be moved for when the command is enabled. Making it known at level 61, like when it was previously awarded, is a little late in the game these days!
I merged together a few threads that had reported this. Thanks for the reports! This is now being tracked internally.
This should just pop up at level one now.. even be cheeky with it and just use the same old window with a red x through the 6.
