How would you buy vendor-bought items such as spells, if there is no plat?

Tradeskill stuff obviously also on loot tables. Want those water flasks and armor molds? better get farming!

A very interesting idea for a new game maybe, where all trade is based upon the bartering of crafted / dropped goods - though some system that approximates currency would likely develop organically.

While true, I would qualify it by adding we don't know how much work it would be.

All the items that players need that are vendor only, all the quests that require some sort of money. Seems to me that they have a lot of work in order to get players what they need.

How about a no combat server? Lots of hugs and Telletubby illusions everywhere.

Make it a PvP server as well and I think you have a winner.

Yes this. Instead of raids you just gather a large amount of people to obnoxiously negotiate with the boss until it gets annoyed and finally gives you the loot you want

Prices on vendors could be changed to 0? If a player hits the buy button, you're just given the item.

yep key guy in PoS has a free item you can 'buy'
