Bummed out of EQ

    Expansion after expansion is bumming me out.

    I play Iksar, Ogre, Troll, Dark Elf.
    I bought EQ in 2002 because it was one of the few games with multiple paths, good vs evil vs neutral.

    Expansion after expansion.
    Kill Iksars
    Kill ogres
    Kill dark elves

    I play as those, why am I all sudden FORCED to be good?

    Make an expansion where I'm killing Dwarves, Half Elves, Wood Elves and that's considered beating the expansion.

    Everquest has changed a lot from its original vision. Not for the better and its bumming me out.

    Kill 'em all, let their gods sort 'em out!

    original vision never included killing dwarves, half elves, wood elves for beating anything

    there was one Space * human boss, in the third expansion, but if you're going to try describing killing that Space * as "evil" instead of heroic that's going to take some serious storytelling acrobatics

    edit: hmm. the word I used to describe that boss was apparently so evil that this forum automods it.

    Wow, I haven't been bummed since the '70's, but I digress. We seem to have forgotten one of the great, unalterable truths of the EQ universe.

    Always kill the halflings first.

    We dwarves find that this always raises our spirits and helps to provide a valuable source of fertilizer for our crops. And their blood when mixed with other ingredients that I dare not name, makes a wonderful dye for our clothing and weapon wraps.

    Weren't we killing a bunch of dwarves in TOV? I remember the GD caves being quite popular.

    You chose to play a evil race. Villains are generally evil. Sorry.
  6. Skuz I am become Wrath, the Destroyer of Worlds.

    And the truth shall set you free!

    Just remembered Dwaves are considered neutral.

    I meant Halflings. Wood Elves. Half Elves are neutral too but I'd like to slay them.

    Tired of slaying Ogres, I am an Ogre and I'm also Iksar.

    How about some Vah Shir slaying too while we at it.

    Anything BUT evil races please. I choose Veeshan as my diety, I'd like to kill Bristlebane Tunare.

    Enough killing Zeks and Veeeshan and evil dieties. Time to get at some good ones.

    TBL, ToV, CoV, and ToL have no Iksars, ogres, or DEs that you kill. And you do get to kill Vah Shir skeletons in ToL.

    The good news is there are Achievements for all for all of those :D

    We need to kill more gnomes. There are so many missions where you have to escort or save a clueless gnome ...

    I have to say, kill the gnomes first, and make the world a better place. Halflings are the dessert.

    Perhaps this indicates a serious need for all gnomes to be placed in an EQ special day (and night) class. We could feed them halfling gruel and take care of two problems at once.

    yepmetoo saving the pie filling for last :)
  14. KarmaKitty Augur

    Halfling smell of/like pie. Cherry pie ?
    Gnomes smell like cough drops.
    Wood elves smell like fresh cut pine. Especially after you hack them down.
    Dwarves of course smell of/like Ale.
  15. Nennius Curmudgeon

    Mmmmm Ale

    We didn't get to kill Iksars in EoK or RoS.

    I feel cheated...:p

    Last time I checked there were many juicy asslings in Rivervale. Next to guhnomes they may the cutest noises when dying.

    One other thing that bums me out is Fableds.

    When they were introduced the founding fathers of EQ wanted this trend to continue.

    However.
    VoA = no fableds
    RoF = no fableds
    ...
    ToL = no fableds

    trend did not continue = me(bummed = true)
