Loot lockout

Since TBL, there has been something called loot lockout.
Can you confirm that it works liked this:

You take an expedition at 16.00 Cet, then you kill a trash mobs
You get a loot lockout that lasts from that point, and 4,5 days: that is monday - thusday + 12 hours that is friday 04.00 CET.

In that interval, no luck augs, and type 18(i think it is), will also not drop.

No loot will drop at all in an instance if it is gotten while you have a loot lockout and it doesn't just apply to luck augs. The only things that will drop loot in that case are the items from the raid event in the chest.

    In essence you are correct.

It gets messy managing the loot lockouts.

To prevent people farming/exploiting they use the various "lockouts".

There was a point in time when people figured out they could farm DZ instances with their mains and right before a win drop the DZ to avoid the lockout.

Now the game keeps track of anyone who ever was part of the DZ and makes sure everyone gets a lockout when:

    - First mob is killed and general loot might happen aka "loot lockout"
    - Boss is killed and a chest is generated aka "event lockout"

If someone joins the DZ they will receive any lockouts that were generated while that DZ is active.

    ------------ ADVANCED ------------

It is possible to mix and match the "loot lockouts"

Lets say you want to farm luck augs. You get some pals together and request the raid instance on Saturday night. Each of you get a "loot lockout" that is going to last 4.5 days.

Sunday your guild plans to do the raid instance and your raid leader yells at you because you have lockouts !

You can do one of two things.

    - A : You request the instance for your raid leader in which case the DZ already has a loot lockout and will not drop any trash, nor gives anyone else a loot lockout

    - B: You drop the raid, your raid leader requests the DZ with no loot lockout, They go kill some trash and then can add you to the raid. You will see the trash drops but not be able to loot.

We generally encourage those who want to farm luck augs to do so on their own time and be prepared to request the DZ for the raid when we did the raid as a guild.

    But what about this situation...

Person 1-6 grap expeditio, and kill trash, means 1-6 gets lockout, and then add person 7, and kills some mobs, but no loot. Person 8-10 is aded and killed mobs, and dont get loot lockout, should they not get loot lookout, seems like a bug ?

Person 7-10 can then be used in 2 expeditions to do kills as long they only do kills

Ummm, no. It was when guilds were doing raids on mains and alts and mains were getting loot from multiple chests. Machin Shin could likely speak to this

You don't get a loot lockout from getting loot but from killing trash in a DZ where it is possible to get loot. In this case all the added people would get the loot lockout from killing trash in the DZ. You would also have gotten the loot lockout from being added to the DZ in the first place which was mentioned in an earlier post.

I called it "Boosting to the cookie jar". Mommy said only one cookie each, and put the jar on the top shelf. Using your alt to boost your main up to the jar for a 'double dip' is pretty tacky.

I'm sure they weren't the only ones doing it, but live streaming it was kind of the final nail in the coffin.

As I said then, the word Lockout and the design intention behind the mechanic are obvious. Circumventing that is about as clear of an exploit as you can get.

The defending of the exploit, and my attack were pretty epic fun though.

Correct. As soon as the first mob dies a loot lockout for the instance is generated. All six have the same lockout.

As soon as they join the DZ person 7 receives the loot lockout.

As soon as person 8-10 are added they get the loot lockout.

    --------------------------------------------------------------

There is a way people can help clear the trash for someone else even if they have a loot lockout.

Lets say no one has a loot lockout and person 1-6 = "group #1" gets the instance and clears the trash by themselves. They now have a lockout lockout.

Now person 7-12 aka "Group #2" gets a new instance. They kill the first mob so they have a loot lockout. At this point they can add the six people from group #1. Group #1 already has a loot lockout so they they can not loot. * BUT * They can help clear the trash.
