    ok anyone know why the mobs keep spawning for the 1st kill step for this task?

    In my experience - you need to kill 2 and hail Senshali Sa Sivueda to update, then 2 more adds will spawn for the next step of the quest, and due to the bad script timing you may end-up fighting 4 adds at once, but usually just 2 and 2. If you wait for more than a couple seconds to hail the quest-giver the adds will re-spawn again, kinda needs fixing, but it is working somehow now, I did it for for myself and my alts.

    when i was trying to box it i had at one point like 6-8 up it was like they keep spawning. i had to bring in some guildies to clear them out so i could get to the npc to hail to get next step going.

    I can tell you coming back to game in T1 Snow armor and doing the 2nd hail in this quest really hurt. Certainly a “welcome to ToL” quest :)

    nope main is 80% cov raid gear with rest tov raid gear and alts are a combo of cov gear form t1 to ts stuff. i can handle 2 or 3 np. but they where just spawning faster then I could keep up. don't use the unnamed auto stuff so when i get adds i have to swap tab to try and cc them.

    Here's how to get it fixed:
    1. Post that someone is exploiting it for xp or drops. ;)

    stay away from the NPC with the group - have one that got the task move up towards NPC and have him get to group with the 2 mobs that spawn.
    Also make sure there haven't been other groups before that failed - those mobs will eventually aggro as well if they're still near enough at the NPC ( Mobs that spawned for this script do not despawn - Good example of a broken script :) )

    Bring a group capable of killing two 50-million HP mobs at once in a matter of 30 seconds or less.

    And that is the thing in today's EQ: since the day 1 EQ was a game of many vices and virtues and there was many ways one can play, but now they tighten the grip on the way EQ must be played.
    You build the group around the tank (SK for group game is a must), a shaman, a bard, and 2 mad zerkers or rogues. The sixths spot is for you to pick: a mage, a beastlord, a ranger. Anything else is kinda pointless: mobs come in packs and SK tanks them all at once, a very high dps is a must due to very high mob HP and any class less than optimal is just a waste. And quests and missions are built around that model, with shorter script timers and rediculous mechanics. Any diviation from that group build-up is a sure way for a failure sooner or later.

    When more than two adds were spawned by a script in older expansions it usually surprised me, and these days I kinda anticipate some rediculous arcade circus in every quest and get surprised when quests go linear and predictable. It was a part of enjoyment to join a new group for a task and see how those new people do it, usually very different from your own way. And now it turns into the same script - bring the overpowered group and zerg and brute-force your way through the task.

    Just an out-of-context grumbling of mine.

    Even that doesn't seem necessary, at least when there are only 2 mobs. When the mobs first spawn, they get in some hits, but then the npcs take of tanking. I can taunt it off and do some aggro things, but the npcs quickly take back the aggro.

    I helped some guild members do this the other night.

    When the first person hailed the mob we got 4x mobs. Before we got the 1st one dead another 4x spawned. With seven in camp the tank quickly dropped and group wiped.

    Went back and was able to break them apart. Get rebuffed tell the NPC we're ready to escort and ... instead of getting 2x adds we got 4x + some zone trash. It kills the quest npc's, and we called it a night.

    Next day we start in a fresh pick, get the normal 2x spawn + 2x on 2nd wave like "normal". Quest took maybe 10 min total.

    its because someone didnt kill them, do it in a pickzone with hardly anyone in it script runs fine

    checked maidens eye just now and there were multiple pairs of the mobs hanging around different spots. Tried splitting them and using highsun but apparently they don't have a set spawn point as highsun doesn't send them away. That would explain them being in odd places too

    Yep was doing this for alts and this happened to me too the other night. I just mezzed them all with the enc and handled business. Should probably be posted as a bug though.
