Get yourself the Achievement: Mercenary of Argath

It's 5 repeatable kill quests. Do those over and over and over again.

Once you learn the mobs in the expansion - head to Valley North part, then South part for more quests/tasks.
In between - do daily Franklin Teek quests for 80, 85 and 90 th levels if those are in conveniet zones.

Once you level up a few levels - go to Sarith and Resplended Temple off the Valley for jucier mobs and quests. Those are better zones for 95+

You also have diminishing returns on these quests. Everytime you level, youre going to get less xp for it. Do it once (or a few times) an move on. You can not keep repeating the same quests and expect to get 3, 5 or more levels out of it.

Which class? Solo? Molo? Group? Group composition if applicable. This information is important as certain classes/groups can handle different/better content for different paths.

Mercenary and progressions quests comes from the the way quests are arranged in the newer expansions.
If you look at the achievements for the modern expansions(type "/achievement"), you can see that each expansion is split up in "quests", "missions", "raids", etc.
The quests in the progression-tab, are what we call "progression"-quests and they are often plot relevant or give access/keys to locked zones.
"Mercenary"-quests are usually just kill-quests for the different zones.

https://eqresource.com/ has a great overview of the modern expansions.

    p.s. Welcome back! :)

There is a big quest to help players with progression and quests. Its called The Hero's Journey. This link I put in below has other little links you can click on and see what is of interest to you. The levels shown are minimum levels to start them at, but can do them at any level above what is listed.

    https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=5553

Hero's Journey is also listed in the Achievement window. As stated above use /ach (type that in your chat window line) or just click the button that says "achievement' on your bottom part of your character screen. I t shows you a listing which further on is set up by expansions. In those you will find the Mercenary/Progression tasks and missions. Once you decide which you want to do then google the title of it for guides and comments on how to do it from other sources, like EQ Resouce/Allh or Almar's and Bonzz. Those are webpages most of us use for reference.

As far as acronyms this is from P99 (P99 a different EQ way of playing not in this game but very similar)
    https://wiki.project1999.com/Abbreviations_Glossary

Personally any list is overwhelming if you try to read it all but maybe as a reference? But then again I just google what does XXX mean in Everquest" and find out that way.

Make sure you have gotten your maps:
    Goodurden's Maps
    Brewall's EverQuest Maps

This is a nice short article about how to download them and what the colors and abbreviations mean on the maps

When HoT was currant, I used to do that quest daily. I collected a big horde of the components for that quest. I camped in front of the quest giver. When I logged on, I requested the quest and was done with it after the quick hand ins. It was a nice chunk of XP right off the bat.

The OP should gather the components and do this every day, at least till the XP dries up.
