    Standard edition had been up to $50 for a bit there, though. So now you can either get the stripped down version for $15 less than that benchmark or get a bunch of the toys for $20 over.

    Which zones will be for early/mid game?

    I'm excited for this expansion, I didn't buy ToV, CoV because I'm not at end game, zero incentives for me to buy the expansion being in the early/mid game. I'm not even anywhere near TBL too, so I didn't buy ToV/CoV.

    I'm looking forward to things to do in Terror of Luclin early/mid game. Finally will have a reason to buy the expansion, I can do something in it! Unlike ToV/CoV.

    The only way this expac would appeal to me,if the unique items were back.
    The last expac, the gear was pretty much the same abilities with higher stats.
    Bring back the unique items, like Bracelet of the shadow hive, Amulet of Xuzl or Staff of Lost Rituals. Not just gear that are copies with better stats.

    Nope, all zones for 115-120. No loot for "early/mid game". You have to go back to your OCD proposition for "TSS-like catch up expansion" for returning players.

    It seems DPG has shifted their view on how "unique" items need to be aquired. From simple farming of rare bosses in VT to doing questlines. Many unique items were available in the last couple of years (TBL,ToV,CoV) such as mounts with top mount buffs, Jann's Veil, Wishing Lamp clickie, evolving items, Anniversary merchant items, proccing weapon augs etc. It's just "unique" items can not be just "farmed" off mobs.

    ZERO zones for early/mid game. since 2008.

    Now that lvl 100 is considered catchup.
    List the catchup zones from 95 to 100.
    Oh that list is now tiny. Because they don't have any catchup zones at 95-110.

    Thankfully its a ToL expansion, Luclin the ORIGINAL, included catchup all the way from lvl 1. Shadeweaver Thicket.
    LUCLIN the original, covered 60 LEVEL RANGE.

    Not your typical newday 5 level range.
    LUCLIN CLASSIC covered 60 LEVELS worth of content.
    Thats how CLASSIC EXPANSIONS, it covers more than 10 levels worth of game.

    If they had the time and resources to make more then 7 new zones you might have a point but there isn't much content for the 115-120 level range as it is.

    I kinda hate that I have to "like" that comment, but alas.... it's true.

    I just want ONE...ONE semi-involved quest like the ToV earring quest. I'm not holding my breath, though.

    They tried to do midlevel catchup with the scaleable HA's. Both CotF and TBM, had itemization for the 75-100 level-range(if they fixed the tuning-issues it would have worked). I doubt they will do anything new for the low-level crowd as they already have plenty of zones.

    Imho, the best they could do for low-levels, is to let high-levels shroud/scale down to proper versions of themselves(imagine if DBG had taken yearly snapshots of eqplayers for this...or just made a scaling algorithm of your current stats/spells).
    That would properly make it easier to talk high-level friends into doing group progression on early expansions they skipped, and help low-levels getting groups.
    Maybe they are afraid it would hurt the TLPs if they did it too well...:confused:

    Sorry. Quake has been talking for months about the importance of ToL making more mid-level zones, had to fillibuster him.

    And they literally have this system in EQ2 already, including an extra quest line with unique house items that takes advantage of it. There's some current scalability issues with it because of power creep, but it's not like the concept is foreign to their dev team.

    I definitely agree with this. A brand new 1-120 leveling path would be incredible and could pull new players in by showing them just how far the game has advanced in the past 15 years, but barring that even having SOME sub level cap zones like they did through SoD would at least be nice.

    I see a lot of complaints like this.
    Looking at it from a lore perspective is a much more forgiving way to see it.
    ToL is the next story of Luclin. Instead of just a ONE SHOT expansion they are expanding the lore by going back to it.
