I recently started a monk on the new TLP Mischief and I am getting confused information. Is it better to use H2H (I have gem inlaid gauntlets), or use two 1HB (I have access to two Shark bone hammers). So far I have only been using H2H up to lvl 9 (my current lvl). However, if its better to use weapons I would like to know.

I have heard H2H is "op" in classic and then others say no, its only "op" if...........

    Thanks for any information

very early on, if you have twink weapons use them... by late 20s/early 30s they catch up to pretty much anything available in classic. I stole this from another post a while ago, its a handy chart to keep around as you level and find gear:

Level(skill) - Level(skill): Dmg/Dly (the monk epic gloves lower the delay, meaning in kunark with epic they are unbeatable!)
    1(0) - 2(14): 3/38
    2(15) - 3(29): 4/38
    3(30) - 5(44): 5/38
    5(45) - 6(59): 6/38
    6(60) - 8(74): 7/38
    8(75) - 9(89): 8/38
    9(90) - 11(104): 9/38
    11(105) - 14(119): 10/38
    14(120) - 17(134): 11/38
    17(135) - 20(149): 12/38
    20(150) - 23(164): 13/38
    23(165) - 26(179): 14/38
    27(180) - 30(194): 15/38
    30(195) - 34(209): 16/38
    34(210) - 38(224): 17/38
    38(225) - 41(239): 18/38
    42(240) - 45(254): 19/38
    45(255) - 50(269): 20/38
    50(270) - 55(284): 21/38
    55(285) - 60(299): 22/38
    60(300): 23/38

People were saying something about the main hand not getting a damage bonus unless you equip a weapon. I don't know if it's true or not, but that's the only caveat I've heard mentioned.

only the first TLP they did h2h was broken, but they changed it, the old h2h chart was
    Lvl/Skill/Dmg/Delay
-- actual - floor(skill/15)+3 delay seems to be 38 at all ranks below is probably wrong

    # 5, 34, 5, 37
    # 10, 64, 7, 35
    # 15, 94, 9, 34
    # 20, 124, 11, 33
    # 25, 150, 13, 31
    # 30, 175, 14, 30
    # 35, 200, 16, 29
    # 40, 220, 17, 28
    # 45, 240, 19, 27
    # 50, 260, 20, 26
    # 55, 280, 21, 25
    # 60, 295, 22, 24
    # 65, 310, 23, 24
    # 70, 325, 24, 23
    # 75, 335, 25, 23
    # 80, 345, 26, 22

Zanarnar's data looks to be pretty good. Once you get to a certain level, in classic, bare hands are better in most all circumstances. EQ's damage calculation is ... almost senselessly complicated. Technically, if you are going up against raid targets, which (on TLPs, through the first ... 5-6 expansions) have a special buff called Mitigation of the Mighty, it can be valuable to have a weapon with a Damage Bonus value, like this: (well I tried to include a picture - but just look up any weapon on Zam and it will have a listed 'Damage Bonus')
Because of the way that MotM works, damage bonus is much more valuable, if you are fighting a raid target that has MotM.
If you are doing non-raid content, and above the level Zanarnar suggests, bare hands are likely best for you. Some raid weapons will take over (Plane of Sky, Rock, etc) but, again, unless you are doing that content, the ratio on group-dropped weapons will not compete w/ bare fists for a long time.
