What is Defiant gear??

It's severely overpowered relative to any other gear in those expansions.

Would this not solve the problem of botters and cheaters? Level appropriate gear for all. Randomized loot seems like it will eliminate some of the nonsense, but why no defiant? Just looking for feedback.

Terrible idea because the gear is vastly better than what you can get raiding. That being said, I won't be surprised if some sneaks in with this wacky new loot system.

Recommended level 50 defiant gear is better than Velious raid gear. WAAY too powerful for original EverQuest.

Ok I haven't played tlp in a while. That being said would this not eliminate a lot of toxic behavior and make the server more fun?

No. It would kill any point in raiding the early game sadly.

Toxic people will be toxic regardless of what loot is dropping.

It'll make certain aspects of the game relatively pointless. Will be no real point in doing non-epic raid targets as the gear will be garbage in comparison till end game targets in Luclin. Group gear will be absolutely pointless until, what, the 8th expansion?

Defiant gear is too overpowered for the Classic > Luclin era. It would negate the main purpose of continual raiding past first kill.

I agree with all of you if only there was a way to lower the stats so it would be comparable.

Elaborate Defiant Gear would make raiding up and including PoP (inkl. LoY/LDoN) almost meaningless (worth just for the weapons/clickies maybe).

Yes, something like that. Elaborate Defiant is certainly better than anything groupable in PoP, unless certain focus effects are required. Even Crude Defiant, which drops at level 1, is much better than BIS drops in Classic. Compared to Kunark, Crude Defiant is low on AC and HME but much higher on stats and often resists, so DPS classes could conceivably get a drop off their first large rat and not upgrade on it for months.

Would having just the first tier of defiant gear be a viable option?

Even the newby gear is better than planar armor in many cases. Defiant is great gear for the effort that it takes to get. It would mostly outclass everything else for awhile.
