What service/website do you folks use to store images online? I would like to post something here, but I can't just link from my computer. Free is preferred since I don't plan on doing this often.
Google is great but you need to adjust the sharing URL they give you to something like: Code: https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1Ar3OIYWeQHV0WheH-lcf2acQ0fhEv718 Because the normal share link they give you just opens a page on Google to view the image, it won't actually be just the image. Just use the link I put above and change the alphanumeric code after the id= to whatever code in the share link they give you.
I used to use Photobucket but now they charge to host images (that is, use their image on another website, like the forum here). They have also placed limits on free storage. Unless you have found a way to avoid that?
Back when they sorted out custom forum-titles, some of us could upload images directly to the forums. Any chance we could get that option back?
I used photobucket for a long time but as you can see from my signature they have significantly lowered their hosting allowance.
I got several emails from them saying I had exceeded the new "free" quota and I should remove images or, as they prefer, start paying them. I then removed all images and had zero images on Photobucket. I kept getting the emails saying I was over the 250 image limit. Apparently, zero is more than 250 . I finally contacted them and their reply: Yup, so according to this it is their policy to lie about the number of images you have stored in order to get you to pay. That's just "marketing". Let's face it, with other services offering far more for free, like Google and Imgur, they are dying and trying anything to get more money, including what I consider underhanded tactics.
