I have to end process to get out of this lock up.

This has happened over a week.

Just EQ running, zoning from PoK to Bazaar...

Try renaming your character log file, it's possibly grown very large.

    i.e. change:
    "eqlog_charactername_servername.txt"
    to something like
    "2021_02_26_eqlog_charactername_servername.txt"

EQ will then create a new log file for your character.

If you use Gina you can go into settings to automate moving old log files once a month to keep the size of the log file manageable.

If the logfile is small or you already manage the size of it then you could possibly try some of the other things below:

Add your eqgame.exe & launcher.exe files to your firewall & antivirus exceptions / whitelist

Right Mouse button Click the EQ Icon, select Properties then compatibility then put a check in the box for "disable full screen optimizations" hit apply then run as administrator the first time you log in

Run a file check from the EQ Launcher

Download & install a fresh copy of Direct X 9c

Download & install the latest C++ runtimes

Check what Graphics hardware you are using & uninstall the old drivers & re-install the latest WHQL drivers for it or a new copy of the current drivers if you already have the latest ones.

    Directx:
Windows 10 will have DirectX version 11 installed in it which will meet the requirements of DirectX version 9. So, the applications which require DirectX 9 should open with the version of DirectX 11. To check the version of DirectX installed in the system, follow the steps below:

    1. Press Windows key + R, type dxdiag and press Enter.
    2. In the System Tab under System Information, the version of DirectX will be displayed.
    Mine shows DirectX 12
I did however download, extract to a folder on desktop and run the setup anyway. Then deleted the folder.
    Still shows DirectX 12.

    C++ runtimes:
    Do I download the " Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019"
    x64: vc_redist.x64(.)exe
    For Win 10 64?

    eqlog
    eqlog_name_server are empty. :D

    Don't use GINA
How to" firewall & antivirus exceptions / whitelist " ?
(never had to do this before)

come to think of it, When EQ used was on E drive it did this issue with zoning. So it has nothing to do with using C drive.. except forgotten settings perhaps.

    Thank you!

This is getting to be a habit of liking your posts .. eww

I experience this as well. Did you get it solved?

Well this was back in February so presumably this was solved.

Have you tried the same solution?
