I wouldn't disagree with you at all. Its not hard, and the workaround is reliable once the problem was identified. Fixed will be even better. Whats interesting is, it always seemed like we ran into the bug deeper in the fight if we were doing more damage to grolik, yet if you go back and read the posts here everyone kept trying to suggest slowing it down had better results, and being desparate to try anything, we certainly were guilty of stopping dps entirely when grolik would go away at times. i suspect why it kept happening to us was just a matter of timing. We'd eventually hit a round where we had 2 sets of orbs up, and then had another 2 sets for the next round, with a bunch of guardians in between. in any case, clearly a bug, clearly he's worked up a fix, and we can all move on with our lives. Though I do remain curious why some people saw raptors and most did not.

If done correctly IMHO you don't see raptors. I'm sure you'll figure the mechanic out so I won't spoil it for others.

You're absolutely correct the event is fun, challenging and no cakewalk but it's no where near mearatas level

same as Enrage mechanics. If a raid doesn't make sufficient progress : can't win.

  5. Fenthen aka Rath

I feel like this should have been worked on during Beta.

Enrage mechanics kill the entire raid or force the raid to respawn. There is no mechanic in the game that locks the raid making it impossible to do anything other than gate out or die in order to force a raid respawn.

One might argue mearatas had this kind of enrage mechanic with the huge hp regen.
  8. Waring_McMarrin Augur

If your dps was high enough you could still get around that and the enrage ramped up damage as well making a wipe very likely. The case with this raid is that hp locks but doesn't impact survivability.
  9. Szilent Augur

Unfettered Emerald Excellence's regen doesn't kill the raid for failing to progress. Queen Velazul flying away doesn't kill the raid for failing that mechanic. Servant of the Sleeper being re-shielded back to 90% by un-killed Custodians doesn't kill the raid. The plainly high hp regen of enemies in Atrebe's Vault doesn't kill the raid.

Yes, yes exactly. If one's raid had the wherewithal to progress the event, the mechanic didn't punish the raid.

Ramping up damage on UEE is another red herring. Going from 1 or 2 clerics required versus the boss during the main event to 2 or 3 clerics while enraged isn't a fail condition.

    its a bug.

Regardless, devs have sided with y'all. It's being called a bug not a feature, despite a dozen guilds successfully navigating it by plainly progressing the event.
  13. Szilent Augur

your declarative statement doesn't transform an arbitrary decision into underlying truth.
  14. The real Sandaormo Augur

The Dev that created to event said it's a bug. That's not siding with anyone, that's him admitting it's something that should not have been there in the first place.

The whole Everquest world thinks your awesome for beating this event and winning before the bug was found. How can we get you to move along.
  15. Maedhros High King

You guys are cute talmbout enrage regen on Mearatas like a guild could out-dps it in era.

Are you deliberately being obtuse here? Get a dictionary. The definition of a software bug is the software doing something the programmer did not intend or want. This may come as a shocker to you, but programs are not some natural phenomenon that you have to adapt to, every single line of code was written by a person, and that person had their own intentions and expectations for what that code was supposed to do. The devs did not even know how this was happening, let alone deliberately program it that way, therefore by definition it is a bug.

If a programmer wrote a calculator that said 1+1 = 3, and did not intend or know how it turned out that way, it is a bug, not something to be rationalized ("lol, it's so simple, just avoid entering 1+1, it's a challenge!").

Neither the mission nor the raid despawn the orbs upon reset. They still run around slaughtering people as they zone in from a wipe. This is current as of today.

    Not a Bug:confused:

    Working as intended:D
