    Hi everybody,

I just got back into EQ and I'm looking for a melee duo with mercs.

The way it seems these days, you need a tank to be able to do most of the content, so I will (grudginly) play one.

I was thinking of choosing one of:
    - SK - supposedly, worse DPS, more clicking, self healing, pulling, FD
    - War - more DPS, less clicking, 100% dependency on the merc

    And one of:
    - Rogue - SoS (love me some invis!), good DPS (great if it can assassinate), pulling, no heals
    - Monk - FD, good DPS, pulling, mend

My current preference is SK/Monk or SK/Rogue (I may actually end up levelling both to try them both properly).

Any concerns about these duos? Anything I'm missing?

I find that the big problem with playing two melee characters is positioning since it's easy for mobs to get pushed out of the "hit box". To make it worse, at higher levels you need to mash a lot of buttons in order to generate decent melee DPS. When I was dual-boxing two melee characters, I usually ended up switching back and forth between them to make sure that they were both hitting their target and that all of the relevant abilities were on cooldown. That was a lot of work, so I tend not to do it any more.

The key to boxing with melee's is to position them with your tank so that you turn the mobs back to the other characters
