Sell us AA's for plat!

Has anyone discussed selling AA's for plat? That would be a great way to remove plat from servers. Make them 10k plat per AA and sell them as "training" from guild masters. High enough that some will opt out, but affordable enough that those with a lot of plat will spend it.

The end result is a great plat sink that benefits players. Server pricing will go down on other items when there is not as much plat available to trade hands.

Need an extra 300AA for raid night? Buy a Krono, sell it, train AA's. With 50,000 AA's available to most classes I don't see it as being a huge impact on game playability server wide.

Sure, why not. The game needs some plat sinks. Would be completely optional and most high end players are just buying glyphs anyways.

My thought is, those who could afford it either don't need the AAs, or are capable of generating them very quickly. I don't think there would be a very big market for this.

    10k for an AA I can get in about ... 1 minute by killing 2/3 mobs ? o_O :p

Game needs more plat sinks? Maybe, I don't know, but not P2W/P2AA/P2Fast or whatever you call it.

You already have some sort of P2Fast for Overseer if you want : Pick an OS task, instant complete with DB Coins.
If you want fast AA, you can still use this method.

That would be so nice i stopped playing my ranger as hes got all xp maxed out even the merc is maxed out and saved aa is maxed too haha. If i could transfer xp to another char that would be nice doesnt eq2 have something like that? xp in a bottle or something.

The game does need plat sinks, but that isn't it.

New and returning players really struggle to buy their spells. Adding a cost to the ToV T1 visible armor is bad for new players and is nothing meaningful to people who have a ton of plat.

Plat sinks need to be in the form of things like power source rechargers. Players who are low on XP that need a power source can go camp a cliff stone. Players who have tons of plat can buy a recharger for 100k from a vendor.

This has no meaningful impact on new players but still has meaning for people with money to burn, in the time they save camping a named when they'd rather camp something else, which also keeps the named free for players who need to camp the PS.

So get PS out of tradeskills, back on named and eat plat with vendor sold recharge kits.

First off... no.... keep that p2win crap out of EQ... it already crept in slightly w/ overseer but they added the 10 quests a day max to curtail it. I know people have argued that other elements of the marketplace are p2win but I disagree... especially compared to other games.

Honestly I have zero sympathy for people that are plat broke in EQ... how many "new" players are struggling to buy t1/t2 armor components? How "new" can you possibly be to obtain level 115? Even if you're returning... did your plat disappear?

Need plat in EQ? There are TONS of ways to accumulate it. I bought one Krono 4.5 years ago from the Marketplace and sold it to start out... from that ~2mil plat investment I'm sitting at ~100 krono between my three characters and about 50mil plat. I got lucky on a few chase items but never THAT lucky (no pet ears/tank shields etc) most of that money was made during the early parts of an expansion launch and or the first day or two of a heritage crate launch. Besides that I sell TS mats and collectibles... both still net HUGE sums of plat.

My advice for someone who is broke... go farm COTF/TDS oddball zones that nobody likes... and toss every collectible/TS mat you get on a trader... check the prices from time to time so you're always the lowest in the market... you WILL make money. I suggest COTF/TDS because they

    No.

EQ currently is pay to look cool, rather than pay to win.

We already have experience potions on the Marketplace (though they are devalued once you hit aa cap territory) and that's about as pay-to-win as I am happy with.

Not sure I like it but its miles better than the OP's suggestion.

I'm highly in favor of an entertaining platinum sink of some fashion... I'd personally like to see an elaborate Casino. A variety of luck based games with legitimate rewards (not exp or AA related), perhaps unique or rare illusion items, mounts, big bags. What would keep me coming back is a posted jackpot reward that someone will eventually score, be it an item, or an ever increasing platinum payout influenced by the success of the 'house'.

It is really too late for plat sinks unless it is something those with a lower amount of plat don't need.

While you have some with billions you also have a lot with less than 1 million, they don't play the bazaar, they don't play to do tradeskills, the play to kill things. They get gear they don't need and give to friends. They don't spend cash to purchase a Krono, they after all have a subscription which should be all the RL cash you need to play this game.

You shouldn't need to farm lower level zones for plat, anything you NEED should come from playing the current game. They can camp named to get gear why do they need to go else where to get plat? Just because you think there should be a plat sink.
