Any person on CoV Beta know if the Knight specific 1handers are 1HS or 1HB? I am hoping for a return to the sword. Thank you!
Absolutely not. I was just imagining the knights having a fit at the idea of having to fight using a dagger or, at best, a rapier. They exist... but they're not at all popular. =)
is Ruins of Kunark not classic-EQ enough for precedent? at least for Shadowknights. Shard of Darkness, Shard of Night, Spine Piercer, Blood Fork, Hollow Bone Shank, Goblin Bone Dagger Velious had Stalagterror Spine Spear and Dark Spear of Venom. Paladins, kinda interestingly, have none.

Great points! In my mind, the original EQ artwork always had the Paladin (Winged Helmet) with a sword and shield. In the same vein, I could visualize old Shadowknights in game meleeing with a spear and shield.
IMHO, paladins and SK should have different class specific weapons because their abilities have diverged so much over the years. A paladin has always relied on melee for class DPS and needs a much deadlier weapon. The weapon procs should also be different and leverage the specific knight's strengths and weaknesses. Rain of Fear was the last time such class itemization was done e.g. Dreadstone weapons. I'd like to see this done again, specifically for classes like paladin that get little attention paid to their other abilities (e.g. bard, wizard, cleric)
I still wish the TS pieces were an alternative to the dropped pieces (group and raid) rather than the best in slot pieces. Then you could do stuff like the dropped weapon is a hammer with a heal proc and the TS weapon is a spear with a direct damage proc. It's kind of done with the generic weapons, but the knight specific ones aren't given any variation. As an example, if a knight wants vampiric consumption on the weapon, they have to go to the general purpose 2H axe.
Agreed and yet wanting more ... because of AA, life taps are the most powerful weapon proc for knights. True life taps became overpowered for Shadowknight and were discontinued and replaced with vampiric consumption, which are tuned to SK and yet impacting paladin (who were not overpowered by lifetaps). Paladins need different weapon ratios and effects than SK.
