Been gone for years, so was curious as to where the people are? What servers are good to find people to group with/level? Or am I doomed to make second account?
You sort of need to pick by your long term plans and era you want to play. Agnarr has a small but vigorous population of boxers and players, but it's locked at PoP/Ykesha/LDoN, and you will have to lvl yourself up through 30-40 most likely. However HP/AC/DS buffs are usually available for free in PoK so the lvling can happen fast, esp. if you join a guild. I'm not on Mangler, Aradune, or Rizlona so perhaps others can comment on those servers.
Firiona Vie if you like the rules (double exp permanent, tradeable items, BUT you can never leave the server). Xegony, Bristlebane probably the top two live servers in terms of population, but all live servers will be mostly dead until the higher levels, so have to make friends.
