Hope some can help e been having Game freezing while playing on Aradune server when it freees have to restart comp evrytime would appreciate any help.
If your computer is freezing so you have to restart, it has nothing to do with Everquest, other than its the program running and rendering graphics that are leading do the freeze. Its your computer. Most likely an overheating issue. 1) Check your fans, make sure they are clean and all are working 2) Check your heatsinks (especially on your CPU) and clean them out Another possible culprit includes a power source that is getting ready to go out. But its most likely your system overheating due to the CPU or GPU being dirty, or potentially getting ready to fail and just generating extra heat.
The game freezes, and it's not a overheating problem. I can run other games that are much more graphic intensive without a problem. I have the problem on integrated graphics, and AMD and Nvidea graphic cards. I can even be on the character select screen and it freezes. I have to use the task manger to kill the eq task.
Could be a lack of DX9C. And no, the latest DX12 or whatever does not cover the 9C. But it does cause black screens, freezing and other graphic issues with EQ and EQ only.
Try the following: Run a file check from the EQ Launcher (HOW? - https://help.daybreakgames.com/hc/e...73-How-do-I-validate-game-files-in-EverQuest-) Download & install a fresh copy of Direct X 9c (LINK - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109) Download & install the latest C++ runtimes (LINK - https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads) Check what Graphics hardware you are using & uninstall the old drivers & re-install the latest WHQL drivers for it or a new copy of the current drivers if you already have the latest ones. Also rarely causes a crash problem but worth doing anyway for better performance is to add eqgame.exe & LaunchPad.exe to your anti-virus & firewall exceptions list.
Thank you CatsPaws and Skuz (appreciate the links). Reinstalling Direct X and C++ runtimes fixed the freeze issue.
