When Beastlords receive round kick at 65 it does drastically less damage than kick. Beastlords also receive a class AA line, Feral Swipe, that procs an additional round kick starting at 65. Even with this AA at level 65 round kick does about a third(or less) of the damage of normal kick. This damage difference swaps at some later level when round kick becomes drastically better and the AA line becomes useful. This is a trap for new players (or players that don't parse out their damage) as the new skill seems like it should be better, but it is not for many levels even if you buy the associated class AA. This is frustrating on TLPs. It seems Beastlords won't get to use round kick or their associated class AAs for a few years after learning round kick and the AAs. It seems like this happened because of some round kick damage changes for higher level Beastlords a couple years ago, and the lower level discrepancy may be unintended. I would consider it a bug that round kick is worse than kick until much higher levels. Could a quick fix be to just bring round kick's damage value up to kick for these levels?
I don't play a BL, but is it because RK has its low skill level and Kick is maxed skill? Does this correct itself when RK is maxed?
doubt there is a bug, always been known that the new skill does "less" damage until trained up, compare them at equal skill, roundkick is more damage.
Both skills are at 300/300 and kick is still substantially(2-3x) better even with the round kick AAs. It looks like this has been an issue since 2017 according to older posts on this forum.According to those posts the issue corrects itself around TBS, but I have no way to verify that myself. https://forums.daybreakgames.com/eq/index.php?threads/feral-swipe-aa-tlp-servers.246351/ https://forums.daybreakgames.com/eq/index.php?threads/beastlord-round-kick.263644/
