Actually I am looking for a Fiend Gut. It is said to drop from a doomfire chaosfiend or a doomfire darkfiend. Magelo shows kills of these mobs in the south of the zone in the middle of three structures there. This middle structure is a structure of elevated walkways ... over lava. But the thing is when I get there, there are NO mobs. And no fiends are on track. What do I kill to make fiends appear? OR, do they spawn only in some special event?

At least one named in the field can spawn and is a fiend, but Qbert is absolutely correct about the vast majority of fiend guts will come from that event. Pro tip (also in the first post on Alla page): You can do the first parts up to but not engaging Fennin Ro himself. The fiends in the front and on the sides will respawn over and over again for about 2 hours. Get all your fiend gut shopping done in one instance.
