How are guilds doing bids for 10+ items from ToV?

I am curious to know how folks process their raid drops. Ours is pretty slow and can easily take 20 minutes. We've talked about different ways to speed things up.

Curious what other folks do ?

Best thing to do is accept that people that people will miss out on loot they want because you're giving very brief periods of time to handle loot and they either don't bid quickly enough or their bid gets lost in the chaos.

People need to be ready to start bidding as soon as that mob hits the dirt. Having 2-4 people calling loot simultaneously and handling bids also speeds up the process if you have enough people who are willing to do that thankless chore :D

Add more loot distributers, run the bids simultaneous for different items at the same time (this is what we did to try to make loot take less time than the hit).

I'm close to saying we should just FFA or advloot on everything but spellls/ores. The demand compared to amount of drops just isn't close and is soon going to be no demand.

This is why FV is better, loot just gets handled at the end of the night. No worries, just raid.

Who cares about loot. You could just about never loot a thing and still be max gear by the end of the expansion just from currency.

As long as alts don't take forever to get in and out, I don't care what they do with loot.

Multiple people doing loot, including spells at the same time. Have alt looters logged in and ready if possible, and it moves alone pretty fast. I've been in guilds that people about how long loot takes, but when we speed up loot we still sit there at the next target way to long anyways, Its always hurry up and wait. System works, have some patience and roll through it. If you want loot be prepared to bid to win, and loot. If you don't want loot, head to the next event and take a small break.

Biggest thing you can do is limit how long each item will be up for bid. With the amount of drops it will be hard for everyone to not get what they want if they put in the effort to be at raids.

free for all (and still dock dkp if they loot based on pre established item prices) if people are willing to loot and spend dkp when you can get free gear with currency thats on them :) chests can rot for all i care at this point (minus the ear upgrade heart if you still need it)...earn enough coin + whats already banked to buy a nugget a week...no reason to waste dkp when currency gets it for free hehe

Can't remember if it's EQ2 or WoW, but one of them supports transferring NO DROP gear amongst those who were in the group/raid at a later time. Until someone equips it, of course.

You will get like 40 total TS pieces if you beat every raid every week, so plenty to have a lot of currency to rot in the currency tab in ToV (with the whole t3 delay stuff too)

You only need to raid the last ~4-5 months of an expansion with the current currency rates to fully bis TS gear up, including slots that get taken up by potential evolving gear for those who don't do them (or future expansions that might not have them)

So the regular gear is even more useless then it already was since 99% of it isn't even bis vs TS gear so as always it is a waste of time and/or DKP to double upgrade

So... FFA if you care about your time and not alts :p

Tells for spells, bid for gear

    • Multiple people taking tells on items/ores
    • Spells on random (ND/GD, not AN/AG)
    • Suits/ornaments on random
    • Hearts randomed between people ready for it; eventually will just be full random

    Delete the chests, easy.

Maed just changed our rules, he opens the chest, links it, steps back. at that point, Mains who need anything are free to run up and grab what they want (still have to pay normal DKP for anything taken) then once we all stop, Maed re-links anything left in the chest for bids to start for alts. One officer takes bids on visibles, one for non-visibles, and Maed takes tells on the nuggets and hearts.

Maybe they should have a button to click that blows up the chest and scatters the loot around the area for people to pickup as they can. A true loot pinata.

Kael Heart & ToFS Key we already know who is getting them before the raid begins.
Spells are auctioned in our chat channel
Gear is auctioned by 3 people in /gu, shoulders, feet and hands are done first to so we can get alts in quickly as those are the most likely to be going to alts.

Spells are assigned by one Rk. III Spell Officer. Ya, that's her official title. I bid the rest of the loot, on average in less than 8-10 mins since the double loots started. Generally, the chest is looted and poofs before it unlocks at 15 mins - including alts zoning in and grabbing their junk. If alts are taking too long to zone in (banner makes the chest one click/zone away) and loot, we will kick the instance and you'll still pay for the loot you were too slow to grab. Be a grow'd up.

Hardest part of doing loot is it all goes to alts, shuffling them in and out is a pain in the rear region.

That said we spend maybe 10 mins on loot now with the double loot and move on.

Snooze and loose. No reason to take forever to account for people being afk. Also, with so much loot raining down there is no reason to nickle and dime everything. Shut down bidding early, if someone loses out because they are trying to get in at the last second they can just wait for it to drop next week. If some idiots are outbidding each other in tiny increments, force a larger increment or use a random timer to call end of bidding.

If loot is taking long it is because the people handling loot are letting it take long.
