IMO: Lets be realistic about our expectation (of Devs.) If they don't understand the problem, they aren't going to fix it.(If they do understand the problem, they probably aren't going to fix it.)

Dev's attitude about queue- 'You just aren't trying hard enough.'
People 'try harder' - wide use (or abuse) of scripts adopted everywhere
    Queue's rebound with vengeance.
You suffer more for playing by the rules.
Those that break them are rewarded.

    My guild follows the rules.
We don't get enough online to drop raid target with DT.
Rumors of guilds like ****'* ** **** who's officers write scripts gain advantage.
You suffer more for playing by the rules.
Those that break them are rewarded

Problems of inherency. Or why things won't be fixed.
No 2nd server unless increased profitability.
As a result of cost, there must be a threshold for profitability.
That threshold must be sufficiently sustainable.

There is a 0% chance of increased stability until players quit and unsub.
Only queue improvement will be when people quit.
    This will take 2+ years.
Subs are down the solution is new server.
New server every year isn't as sustainable.
Excellent servers only come as good players tire of power creep loss of that, loving, EQ feeling.
Diminished returns- good players tire of original content.
All TLP's must start at Classic to maximize profit and promote longevity as server pops drop after PoP.

Has to be a top down decision.
Self serving bias works against change.
The more problems, the more important the Dev becomes.
    This is cyclical.

Paradigm Shift for DEVS (and players who can't think past the AD HOMINEM, you're just a complainer.)

    >Walk into grocery store line is 3 hours long.
    >You know exactly what you want, where to find it, and proceed directly to checkout.
    >Manager tells you that you just aren't trying hard enough to check out.
    >Manager points to self checkout lines.
    >You've been there for hours.
    >They clearly aren't going to open up another cashier.
    >Manager tells you leave.
    >You offer them money.
    >Others skip the queue and 'steal' what they've already paid for.
    >No one is allowed to check out while mobs of others are stealing
    >Checkout is now 6 hours long.
    >Manager glares but quickly looks back at you as if nothing is happening.
    >Manager takes your money then tells you tell you to come back at 12:00 a.m.
PST OR 3:00 a.m. EST. to pick up your groceries.
    >The manager has already taken your money.
    >No other store has the product you want in stock.
    >No other location carries the product.
    >You return to store at 3:00 a.m.
    >Doors are wide open.
    >No manager. No cashiers. No security. No Line.
    >Just stocker and maintenance.
    >Guilds of thieves continue to steal what they've paid for.
    >Take your product and walk out the door.

Understanding the "Dreamweaver Psychology" is something along the lines of Oppositional Behavioral Disorder. It is because you simply asked, implies you won't get it.

If you ignored devs like a cat, they would have already crawled over to you, pawed your lap and cuddled up for a warm 2nd server.

If we want change with Devs we should employ some applied behavioral analysis.
Anyone willing to help me develop a behavioral treatment plan?

    Begin dossier.
    Initial intake and observations.
    Take general history.
    Interview relations from all axis.
    Global Assessment of Functioning.
    Preliminary analysis.
Develop list of triggers and antecedent behaviors.
Avoid triggers. (what hasn't worked in the past.)
    Continued observation.
    Focus on positive interactions.
    Track behavior.
    Create metric.
Applied behavior analysis to individualized plan.
    Graph behavior incidents.
Inform all players of key phrases and responses only, until classical conditioning kicks in.
Counsel game devs to understand players, aren't perfect.

    TL : DR.

    Admit to the manager, Dreamweaver, and the Gods* you aren't trying;

    perform penance by queue.

*The other inherent problem- Devs view themselves as God-creators.
A year out or so, Aradune will be an excellent server and viewed as a success. The blatant failures will be overshadowed by the overwhelming success. This will promote mediocrity for years with the side effect of EQ's survival.

Short version: The devs don't care. When everyone leaves, the queues and crashes will go away. Problem solved!

The original poster was pointing out the absurdity of the dev's choices and he is right.
