    When can we expect zoning to be less risky then playing the Casino in PoK? Takes 3-5 mins to zone on Aradune if you are lucky, if you are not you crash and have to log back in

    I feel like the bonus XP makes the problem even worse because more people will be on for longer periods of time. As I write this, i died and re-spawning and then getting a rez too more than twenty minutes, lol.

    Adding more stress to servers that were already having issues just doesn't make sense to me.

    As someone else has said, some acknowledgement is better than nothing, but there was no mention of the terrible chat/parcel lag. So frustrating!

    I have some goals for playing EQ1 and while I am pleased to be getting to experience the game, I am certain that once I have completed those goals, I will not be tempted to play on subsequent TLP servers, etc, based on the performance issues I've experiened in the past two weeks.

    That sounds great but when will we be able to play? Its still 10 minute zone times, which is unplayable.

    And ya dont make any new games, I doubt any of your existing customers will expose themselves to that experience.

    Thank you for the apology, Jenn.

    Unfortunately it's not a very heartening message. It reads more like Columbus Nova or Jason Epstein or Nantworks or whoever the hell is squeezing the Everquest franchise for all its worth. In this case it means coercing you to under-provisioning the server hardware and understaff the administration in order to make as much of a profit as possible. Beloved developers like yourself coming to the community to take the fall for it is appreciated by many, but people paying attention see through it.

    I won't pretend to know the business model behind DPG/DBG's ownership, but I can tell you that underfunding the game to maximize short-term profit before selling it off or just closing its doors and writing off the loss for a tax break isn't good for Everquest.

    No mention of the Aradune issues, like zone time in the after noon is 10-30 minutes. Chat response is always around 1 minute. Server is basically unplayable in peak hours even if u get in (actually haven't had any queue issues recently though).

    LOL we're talking about a potential missed decimal point, not all the rest of it. If you're that harsh you're another person I would not want to be anywhere near in a work situation.

    Try and login or zone now. Your limited experience in no way corrects and discredits the massive issues and denial of service we are all experiencing.

    You can log back in? You must have paid someone under the table. I only paid the subscription fee and cannot even log back in. Same thing, every, single, night.

    What you mean to say, is that you and your constituents are full of crap.

    What's sad: I turned into a kid again upon hearing about these new servers, only to turn back into an adult when I realized how you guys dropped the ball. What I'm saying is, I cancelled my subs, this game we love is broken because of your people, and a game that is more than two decades old shouldn't be an issue to operate if you charge with subs. Either you're getting screwed too, you're liars, or you're incompetent... or all of the above. I know you don't read replies, because that's not how cash grabbers roll... so burn in hell.

    So THAT was/is the issue?? In any case, a statement of what is going on about what has happened is something that a fair number of folks here have asked for. That is good. I am hopeful that similar statements will be forthcoming in the future. If this sort of thing were to do nothing else, it at least shows a realization that things were wrong (obvious I know) and that a plan is in the works.

    It also helps to connect the devs. to the players. Not a bad thing from a P.R. stand point. I don't play on a TLP server, but the poor folks there have likely suffered enough. They are all paying customers, unlike many on the non-TLP servers, and deserve to know more of what is happening to their servers.

    All in all, well done to a point. Other issues not mentioned in the statement have had attention drawn to them by other posters. I hope they have been noticed and added to what is probably a depressingly long list. I should add that the lag was a fair bit less on Bristlebane for me last night. But it is still noticeable.

    P.S. (off-topic) My wife and I are both school teachers and learning to teach kindergarten from a distance was an adventure. I imagine the developers had some similar adventures. I am grateful for their efforts in keeping my addiction, err...game obsession, err...bloody waste of time, err...very enjoyable diversion from the stuff of life going.

    Adding exp bonus was not a good idea before you have these issues resolved. You just opened the flood gates back up. GG.

    Next time be smarter and give out free exp pots to all. Then you wont get a flood of people pushing to max the gains.

    Derp... one more silly mistake add to the rest.

    lul. Team of employees and 1 couldn't pickup a Cell phone, laptop at a mcdonalds or something to post "We are aware of issues and promise to be communicative to our paying customers during this downtime"

    Just out of curiosity, how does a 25% xp bonus help alleviate the major issue of you can set a clock by when the game becomes unplayable on Aradune (about 12pm to 7pm PT daily). I haven't played since around 2004 and wanted to come back and experience the game again since I have to be at home anyhow. I must say I'm not impressed. Here I am paying for 2 accounts and all I can do is post on the forums, not even able to login to the game I paid for. I guess I'm the sucker.

    Thank you darkpaw for your hard work in these trying times, thank you for being honest with us for being transparent and thank you for the bonus.

    But I am sick to my stomach with some of the things people are saying in this thread, and I am sorry. Please keep fighting for those of us who have stuck with you, and will continue too.
