Why is language always showing as drunk Elvish?

I have two main computers. On one of them no matter what language I choose it appears to everyone as if I'm speaking Elvish but the text is garbled even if the person knows Elvish. The other computer(s) work fine.

What can I do to fix this?

Does it matter what character you are playing on that computer? If it's the same character seeing the issue, it could be that they only have a low skill level in Elvish, which would cause the text to be garbled when trying to speak in it.

Are you on the Firiona Vie server? if you are, that's why your language is poor elvish.

Elvish has left the building.

It happens on every character on that one computer. I'm guessing some kind of ini has become corrupted ... or something.

you could try deleting/renaming your eqclient.ini.

Otherwise I think language is specific to that chat window (maybe even chat tab) try marking always chat here on a window and make sure that window has language set to common.
