They usually follow previous years' patterns. Here's from last year: https://www.everquest.com/news/eq-memorial-day-bonus-weekend-2019 +50% Experience +50% Faction +50% Rares
Looks like Memorial Day is the 25th. New TLPs open on the 27th. Hopefully they won't pull the old "we can't have an XP bonus when new servers are opened" like they did last time.
I might actually be around for Memorial Weekend. I'm in a high risk group because of a health issue and will probably be self quarantining a lot of the time until they come up with a vaccine, even after they loosen up the lockdown.
Look at previous year Memorial Day exp bonuses. They start on Friday and end on Tuesday. Aradune and Rizlona launch on Wednesday. If Aradune and Rizlona got a bonus it would deviate from this trend. It did not. Agnarr got a bonus the day after launch.
There is no "trend". If a server releases on/around a holiday it gets a bonus in correlation to that holiday/event... Agnarr got the bonus because it was released prior to memorial day. Coirnav/Mangler/Selo were released for Anniversary Celebrations so they got bonuses because of the events. Miragul did not...RF/LJ did not. Rizlona and Aradune are "trending" not to have one.
Sorry let me elaborate for you. Every year since at least 2012 there has a been a memorial day event. Every year that event ends on Tuesday following memorial day (a holiday which always falls on a Monday). This means that Aradune and Rizlona launching on the Wednesday after Memorial day will NOT have bonus exp unless they deviate from the last 7 years worth of memorial day event data. The trend I am referencing is not whether or not new servers get holiday bonus exp, the trend is the dates which memorial day bonus exp data is applied. The deviation from trend would be bonus events for memorial day going beyond the Tuesday following this holiday. https://www.everquest.com/news/eq-memorial-day-bonus-weekend-2019https://events.eqresource.com/index.php?action=display_month&phpcid=1&month=5&year=2018https://events.eqresource.com/index.php?action=display_month&phpcid=1&month=5&year=2017https://events.eqresource.com/index.php?action=display_month&phpcid=1&month=5&year=2016https://www.daybreakgames.com/news/memorial-day-weekend-member-summer-sale-2015https://www.everquest.com/news/memorial-day-2014-double-xphttps://www.everquest.com/news/emergency-server-downtime-05-24-2013https://www.everquest.com/news/imported-eq-enus-524275 Thank you for your response!
If that's the case they should start the servers earlier or extend the bonus exp. It would be really lame to be cheated out bonus exp like that.
Cheated how? The two events (Memorial Day bonus xp and new servers opening) have nothing to do with one another.
It's the reason they (DPG) chose to launch the servers on May 27th instead of the previous Wednesday.
I believe Agnarr got "cheated" of an XP bonus a while back when some server went online, IIRC. Stated reason was they didn't want the new server to have bonus XP and they didn't have the ability to regulate bonus XP per server.
Hey! I thought I was the only one! Glad to see at least some people planning on sticking it out on Mangler
