    Hello,

Just wondering if it is common practice for GMs to ignore support tickets for an extended length?

My bank mule was suspended by 99 days as someone had bought something and put a ticket in to the GMs because they believe they were duped.

Price of KR on current server is 29-32K. I regularly have posting on /buyer for highest buy price (as I resall on /trader). I also have a posting that I put up at 3,000 (Three thousand). Some people get over anxious when they see me as highest buyer at 28121P, then see theres always one for 3,000 and sell!

Now, as far as I know this has never been against EULA. I have submitted a ticket over a week ago and have not heard back, aside from a link to the Terms and Service agreement, and that I was suspended pending an investigation due to broker activities.

AKA Johnny got mad because he thought he could get an extra 2K for his Krono and realized after the coma places were off and that he got nothing.

IF this is against EULA, fine. Never heard it to be before.

all logs, and screenshots of posting were provided in said ticket. No responses.

Now my bank mule is locked out.

Any idea how long it takes for this to get cleared?

The question of how long is up in the air with lock down in California it is possible GMs don't have access to all the info to decide currently.

Just because they have not historically warned/suspended/banned for something does not mean they will not or can not without notice.

This is probably not about just one Johnny getting mad this is most likely about it being the 5th Johnny that you have scammed that bothered to petition. It is probably happening so often that the number of petitions have caused at least 1 GM if not all of them to take the position of suspending. Suspending to stop it is probably less resources than saying buyer beware to the scam victims and eating charge offs as some of the victims quit EQ permanently.

Argue all you want that DPG should fix the UI and it is not your fault, but you have stated that you list one for the specific reason of tricking or scamming people out of items that have a real life cash value attached.

Personally i feel it should spread to your other accounts. What you are doing can cause new or returning players to quit and charge back the krono purchase leaving the game forever. This can be just as damaging to the game as many other things that are suspensions or bans.

Whats to complain about? Failure to properly read:(. Its not a scam its failure of someone to properly check prices before jumping on something because they thought they found a better price but didn't really look. Shame on someone for not sorting by price and just looking at the leading digit and thinking OMG I got a sucker to buy my Krono.

I also agree it's a scammy way to do things

    However to answer your question
They are working from home and short staffed to keep this game up for all of us stuck at home, expecting a fast reply or any at all on this type of issue which would require a lot of looking into things is not a good bet

again TY DPG team for keeping our gaming world secure during these times!

Just about everyone posting/reading on the forums knows better than to fall for this. This is still 'a dishonest scheme' taking advantage of a poorly made UI with poor default spacing on columns and new/returning users that do not know better. If you take issue with the word scam i can settle for sleazy, scuzzy, dirty, rotten, ect. Also i am in no way absolving DPG the poor design and default layout of all the windows related to barter/buyer.

The people getting tricked and quitting will not be there again as a customer either for the bazaar traders/buyers or DPG. More importantly they will not be around for anyone to group or raid with if people keep eating the lowest/vulnerable end of the player base up.

    I'm confused.
HE sold one for 3k to buy it back for 28k?
  8. CatsPaws No response to your post cause your on ignore

I took it that what he does is offer to purchase them at 28121 and then also lists one other offer at 3000 and then gambles on poor reading comprehension or handicap like dyslexia or poor visual cognizance to take advantage of others so they will sell the krono at the 3000 amount. Then he can resell it at the 29-32 K.

Most players do have super low prices in barter but doesn't hurt so much when its 5 plat and the stuff can resell for 100 plat. Some players (mostly new ones )are so excited to buy a krono and then resell it, hoping to get enough to finance spells etc and then this happens.

I hope it is really a 99 day suspension as he wrote. Maybe he will move on to WOW or some other game better suiting his playstyle.

I could understand the 28121 and another one at 2812.. but 3000? that would be noticeable.
  10. Tyreel Augur

Remote buying and selling is not enabled on TLPs until a later expansion (RoF?) so yes you can search but you still have to run to the person and open the window and select the item. To the uninformed and excited person both are cropped the same and their mind fills in the blanks 2812| and 3000| as 28121p and 30000p. Person selling thinks oh great they are desperate for one now and buying at 30000p and mistakenly sell for 3000p. They did not know how to widen the columns or to hover the mouse over the item until the price pops up.

All 3 sides on the transactions have blame but only one is specifically doing something in hopes of misleadingly profiting of the transaction.

This is probably something DPG does not want intervene in but when happens too often you can bet they will.

Dealing with charge backs is not cheap or simple and too many of them stacking up can cause real issues like a bank/processor refusing to allow charges to DBG/DPG at all.

Having an article in the knowledge base specifically about not doing this with Kronos would essentially be a direct admission that it is expected behavior with other items in game but Kronos are special and will be monitored. Also the article would have the downside of giving people the idea to try doing this and clearly no one has ever heard of anyone being suspended/banned for it before...

Aww... you seem offended. I mean I haven't really thought much about trying to exploit others, just trying to get a leg up from people who are too stupid to think twice. I had a double post up weeks ago when prices were 30K, and hadn't realized until about a week later when people started selling their Krono for 3,000. I left it up since why not? Not illegal. Atleast, not that I'm aware and why I am pursuing the GM support. I'd like to clarify if it is legal or not.

I understand its seen as scummy, etc etc... but it is a noticeable difference that only those who click too fast wouldnt realize. I mean, you literally have to search for the person on bazaar, run to them, open the window, find the item, and buy it. No insta-clicks. No 3rd party mods, outside programs, etc... just peoples plain old stupidity.

I don't believe a 99 day suspension is justified given I didn't do anything wrong or illegal. The suspension as they put it, is to investigate broker activity.

In the meantime, no, I will not be going to WOW. I am simply doing the same thing on another account. In the meantime I don't have that shammy to play with, which is nice (I liked the name / race combo) but have levelled and am playing another in lieu of.

I'd really like some clarity if this is indeed illegal or not. It seems as though I was suspended for reports, and instead of looking into it the "investigation" is stagnant and will just play out the 90 days. If it's illegal, would want to make it known as I know for certain I am not the only one doing it.

One can hope further suspensions will be coming.

Had to read it twice to be sure I understood it. And well I agree with others, your ban is well deserved.

There are people who are actually number blind and have hard time reading those, just like word blind.
  14. Veteran_BetaTester PIZZA!

I have had 4 of the same (meaning MY question, noting to do with similar situation OP did) support tickets out now, they get ignored.

I'm only here due to the support tickets not talking about suspensions in detail (Ignoring the player basically)

I still don't understand what this guy did.

Now I read up a few posts, something to do with "Remote buying and selling" ?
    ..what is that? A program?!

Another post mentioned ' numbers blind '.. Why would anyone else be accountable for a player having a disability of 'numbers blind'? Wait, you walked into a car in front of me because you were blind.. and its the car drivers fault?
A numbers blind guy gives a 1000 tip instead of a 100 tip and it is the waitresses fault?
What the heck is numbers blind?

I don't see 99 day suspension being realistic. I have never heard of such a suspension .. NINTY DAYS ? Why 99 days? IS that the max the system will allow? Is there a guideline book of rules that stats a player can not be banned for x they have to be suspended so 99 days ( the max allowed?) is the choice?

For someone picking the wrong item in baz? What!

I walk in baz and see things like this for years of items this price and another has it that price. Yesterday items changed prices on my way going to buy the item. And another bug I saw was a baz mule was invisible I couldn't right click on him but the find path found him I had to buy and pay the parcel fee. I even tried zoning out and back in.
Is that a hack ? or a bug?

So what exactly did this guy do again for 99 day suspension? this doesn't make sense to me.

Guy posts items and buyer doesn't pay attention.. and?
(I NEVER sell in baz... 20 years now. I don't know any tricks here)

They still have the power to suspend.. if lacking tools to explain, or proof, they they should not be suspending.
It is called ' discovery '.
Also, I don't see ANY rules or EULA when I click my icon to play the game. I don't see any to agree when my CC is taking a charge when clicking DB button on my UI in game.
  15. CatsPaws No response to your post cause your on ignore

EULA will show up the first time you log into an account on a new computer/fresh install

You agreed to let them use your charge for recurring payments when you entered the card info
  16. Corwyhn Lionheart Guild Leader, Lions of the Heart

Yeah I am sure it was done intentionally from the very beginning no accident you left up but nice try. But if you did get banned for that reason and are doing it on another account then thank you! DPG can see all your accounts just by looking at once. Hopefully they will pass this on to the CS team if this was the reason for your ban.

Go play Eve that game has being scummy built into the rules.

I get you're all hot and bothered. I'm trying to find where in the EULA, or Terms of Service that indicates this behaviour is not allowed on this game. If what I am doing is illegal, that surely it should be identified as such. I mean, you have 5-6 people who are clearly bazaar-bots, literally matching prices to always be the lowest seller, and higher buyer. I understand its muddy water we traverse, but based on the EULA / Terms of Services it just indicates that you cannot use 3rd party software, illegal programs, cheats, etc etc.

Would be nice to get some clarity. If I am doing illegal, sure, suspension is legitimate. It would also mean the other characters I have done this on / are doing on this would stop. I'm not purposely attempting to break rules, cheat, etc.

[IMG]In terms of what I did:

https://imgur.com/a/ocX0Hzg link - cant figure out how to add to forum (sorry)

I am posting to buy auctions. These are the ones that if you are in the Bazaar, you have to type /barter to buy. A screen pops up with all your sellable items in inventory, you click on the item you want to sell, then it gives you a list of any people who are buying instantly. You can then sort by quantity, price, buyer. As I am on TLP (Mangler), you don't have the ability to instantly click to buy, you must manually run over to the person, with that window up. From there, you click like you would a regular vendor, find the item you want, then buy it.

I understand alot of players find it scummy, rude, etc etc. Yes, clearly the intent is to make a quick buck. I can't force someone to click, buy. I wouldn't have the know how to manipulate any 3rd party app, bot, whatever it is. Further, not sure how it is on live, but on Mangler if someone is at my vendor window, for me to re-post or modify a price I literally have to STOP the vendor (which automatically kicks them out), modify the pricing, then hit the button to become a vendor again. The user would then have to click a second time, before purchasing.

Now, if this is illegal, then yes, I did wrong. But no where could I find was it illegal. Yes, its frowned upon, and alot of people will get upset (including those who click the wrong thing). This was the GM reply to the ticket on day 3, that has gone ignored since.

Your account has been suspended pending the outcome of an investigation into suspicious broker activity. We will provide further notification when the investigation has concluded.

If you have any information you would like to share that might aid our investigation, please feel free to update this petition at your convenience.

Please be advised that cheating, whether via use of illegal 3rd party software of exploiting game mechanics, is against our rules of conduct and may result in account termination.

Ultimately, I just want some clarity.

So how do you know this is over what you think it is?

Perhaps they traced a bad krono to your account. Could be a couple things.

All they say is broker activity and you think it is over your pricing. Perhaps its................

    Hmmm "exploiting game mechanics"
