This applies notably to the contents of heritage crates, I'm going to say every heritage crate items because no two seem to work the same nor do they the design and content claiming for them needs to be universal. This is a collection of issues covering a good chunk of issues with them.

Naming convention - the wrapped illusions should be properly named to tell the purchaser what they are buying, ex: Wrapped Illusion: Face of the Drowned
Naming convention - the wrapped mounts should be properly named to tell the purchaser what they are buying, ex: Wrapped mountable: Jungle Spider
Naming convention - the wrapped teleporters should be properly name to tell the purchaser what they are buying, ex: Wrapped Teleporter: Halas Placard
Naming convention - the wrapped familiars should be properly name to tell the purchaser what they are buying, ex: Wrapped Familiar: Fourth Gate Guardian

Inspecting a wrapped item should properly show what is inside when inspected from inventory and from /baz.
Example of a working inspectable wrapped item: wrapped ak'anon bubble lamp
inspecting this shows a claim reward: ak'anon bubble lamp, click that you see the claim window and details of whats inside it.
Example of broken inspectable wrapped item: Wrapped Brain in a Jar
Inspecting this shows it has 'unwrap brain in the jar effect" clicking the link to that shows adopt the iksar familiar and make it your own, no details at all what the brain in the jar is, is it an illusion? is it a teleporter? is it a mount?
Metadata - the wrapped items have no metadata to make /baz searching able to find them by type, search type: illusion, nothing, search type: mount, nothing
Metadata - there is no type of teleporter for the items that provide ports, this should be created and the items marked as such.

The player base has paid you good money for these items, as evidenced by the 100's if not 1000's of the items in /baz searches. You could take a momemt and cleanup these broken items and unify them so they all work identically since you are still selling them regularly.

This sounds like suggested changes not a bug report. Probably should be posted in the Veteran forum with the tag [FEEDBACK]

Pretty sure a item that says click to claim a familiar that gives a teleporter is a bug, along with all the other items that are not familiars, the mount, the illusions etc that have the same broken inspect messages/descriptions.
Yes there is a lot feedback and suggestions here, but the core of it is these items are broken/bugged with bad tooltips / descriptions etc. The sad thing this isn't new... They have been like this since I came back over a year ago... I mean if it was just normal game content that's okay I guess to let it sit unfixed, but stuff they are actively taking peoples money for kinda demands some level quality control.

    inconsistent claiming function example:
Adoptable domesticated bleeder - has a rewards window claim function, lets you see the item you are claiming
Adoptable blood runed gargoyle - click to consume claim function, generic message of claim spell on inspection, no preview of item

Mount not tagged with mount for /baz search
Adoptable Gilded Clockwork Rhino and pretty much any of the adoptable mounts don't have mount tags.
I have seen people trying to scam the non mounts as mounts just to show how this missing tag can be abused.

    Generic adoptable message
Adoptable Black Mamba - effect/description "adopt the teir'dal familiar and make it your own" - if you know a mamba is a snake or can discern what at micro icon of the item is, not that big a concern, a more fitting description would be effect: adopt the teir'dal snake familiar and make it your own

    Illusions labeled as Familiars
Wrapped Helm of the fourth gate guardian - click to consume claim function, unwrap to claim the tier'dal familiar and make it your own, this is an illusion, not a familiar.
Wrapped Ice Giant Facade - has a rewards window claim function, lets you see the item you are claiming, item description says it's an illusion

    Teleports labeled as Familiars
Wrapped Placard: Tink N Babble click to consume claim function, unwrap to claim the tier'dal familiar and make it your own, this is a teleporter, not a familiar. cannot see what you are claiming
Wrapped Darkones Throne - has a rewards window claim function, lets you see the item you are claiming, item description says it teleports you

The gnome heritage seems to be the cleanest collection of them but even then, they lack search meta tags like mount, illusion etc

It's a project to change the behavior of all of the old items. It is not a project we have started yet.
I'll need to research this as it's not a specific tag we have, but some other method. I expect it checks by spell which is odd that it can be "fooled"
I think most of these should be fixed in this patch. (thought it is going more generic,)

Older heritage crates use a 'dummy' spell that triggers a script on launch to convert a tradable item into a non-tradable one, because when they were created the item convert functionality did not exist yet and that was the best way to handle things.

The dummy spell has an override name and description to better fit the resultant item. For example: in the case of the Wrapped Helm of the Fourth Gate Guardian, it's "Unwrap the Helm of the Fourth Gate Guardian" and "Unwrap the Helm and make it your own." But as of a recent-ish change, you can click on a spell that's attached to an item to view its details. Viewing the spell's details bypasses the overrides to see the dummy spell under the hood. In the case of the guardian helm (currently Live), it shows "Adopt the Teir`Dal familiar and make it your own." Again, when these Heritage Crate items were originally created, doing this was not possible, so it was not a problem then. But it is now.

As of this week's update, tentatively scheduled for tomorrow, the dummy spell has a more generic description so as not to be misleading. Perhaps it would reduce confusion if viewing the spell on an item passed through the override name and description. Ideally, if we are going to continue to unvault pre-existing heritage crates, they should be changed to use the item convert functionality.
