On first launch of EQ in a freshly booted laptop (Win 10), I have the following issue: - Any attempt to enter text in a chat window on the bottom line (only) of the screen causes a window swap to trigger whatever desktop app is active outside EQ at that portion of the screen e.g. towards left will be Windows search bar. Note: this does NOT happen any more once the initial swap (and back) has happened, during the same EQ session. IT WILL recur if EQ is closed and then re-started, in the same Windows session. I can pre-empt the issue, by: once EQ loaded, swap windows to desktop and back again. The fault will then not occur. I should add that I run in non-windowed mode.
For me it happens, when i click in the area on the bottom oft the screen, where the taskbar of the underlying desktop is located. As with the OP, this is on a Windows 10 computer.
From Dec 2018 - this may help This is Win10 being overzealous. I presume you have "Auto Hide Taskbar" enabled? - Right-Click Taskbar - Click taskbar settings - Disable all references to 'Automatically Hide Taskbar' EQ should function normally when you click at the bottom of the screen. Thank you ILoveMBandwidth for this if it works
