MegaThread:Top DPS Per EQ Expansion

They patched it twice, the first patch messed things up and casters were getting hit harder by MOTM then they should have been. I remember this because all the wizards in the guild were considering main switching. After the 2nd patch, the damage started reporting correctly for casters again, and we were thrilled. Nothing has changed since in damage reporting for caster damage. I'm too lazy to click those threads and try to make sense of everything you and the other threads are saying. All I know is what I just said is true. I have no idea how this effects damage on previous TLPs because I never played on any of the previous ones. I was just under the impression caster damage wasn't being reported correctly on previous TLPs because they had to patch it in the first place.

Sure, any amount of krono you want. Let's make this happen. I'm certain you have never seen a good wizard parse before. Shoot me a PM and we can set this up.

You aren't wrong that it isn't easy to beat Rangers on this fight. Aggro management is really difficult because of the stuns on tanks and tank threat debuff. I am usually neck and neck with the highest parsing ranger, and have been beaten when I pull threat and die. Here is a sample parse (Best I can do since my parses don't pick up accurate melee damage, this is pulled from my guilds discord parse dumps which are posted after every raid for each boss fight). This is the only fight out of Ssra, VT, and Seru where rangers can beat a well played wizard.

There is your problem, your overall raid dps is horrid and your rangers suck.

Raid DPS with a group that supports your class, the top DPS I saw for the following expansions were:

Secrets of Faydwer : Magician ("Shock of Many" spell line introduced)
Seeds of Destruction : Magician
Underfoot : Magician
House of Thule : Magician
Veil of Alaris : Magician
Rain of Fear : Wizard
Call of the Forsaken : Wizard

So you have no idea how this effects Phinny but you know that on Phinny damage was reporting incorrectly. Why can't people on the internet just admit they're wrong.

Then in the parses 222 DPS for the "top" wizard and 236 DPS for the "top" Ranger. Yah it seems like your Rangers are . Also EMP is a really bad fight for Rangers cause the SSRA bane bow is terrible and Rangers can't dot on that fight.

No bard on there means you had bad bards =(

Good question I'm not sure why you can't admit you're wrong about how the patches affected caster dps at the beginning of last years TLPs as I already admitted I may not know how it affected Phinny. It might have something do with the fact you have invested self worth into forum questing with over 1000 posts would be my guess.

Overall raid DPS probably isn't the best since the composition contains a lot of healers. That doesn't change the fact that in this parse you have posted your wizard is bad. Also Rangers can get lucky once in a while with really good RNG, as can Wizards. I am not interested in seeing other parses with Wizards on it because as I said 95% of people that play Wizards don't play them to their highest potential. That Wizard you posted doesn't even have a pet linked to him.... How bad is he??!

Forgot to mention also a shorter fight on Emp (more dps) is actually better for me so I don't run oom at the very end. Emp is the longest fight in the expansion and is the hardest fight for a Wizard to top because of how much more you have to concussion (twice as much as any other fight).

Forget all that, when is the Taliefer vs. “ManglerWizard” shootout? Who is streaming it?

How can you claim these wizzards are bad when they had higher DPS than you did?

Lets check the math dude. I did 103k damage in a 462 second fight. Thats 222.9 DPS. He did 77334 damage in a 389 second fight. Thats 198.8 DPS. What are you smoking? I have approx 24 more DPS then him. My DPS is higher. He might be better then the average wizard because the bar is low but he's not good.

Yeah did you see the parse I posted where I am clearly the best wizard on mangler parsing with that kind of DPS on the hardest wizard fight in the expansion? Its ok taliefer I can tell you are scared to race vs me, as you should be. The competiton in Kursed or PA or whatever extremely casual guild you are in is equivalent to your moms bowling league. Keep the responses coming though this is pure entertainment to my friends and I. Where is your parse?

My DPS on this emp is 109 / 391 = 278.77. 278 DPS on the hardest fight in the expansion by a mile threat wise. Where you at taliefer?

**Many classes wouldn't have discs up for this fight since we only take 1 hour to clear all of SSRA in a DZ. I assume the top ranger did use his trueshot on it**

There you have it - A combined Boss parse, Trash mob parse, and Boss + Trash combined. Two things to keep in mind here. In total it's a 3 hour VT run killing everything, there is ZERO downtime to med. Loot is literally bid off while other boss mobs are dying. Everyone is told to disc as soon as there discs come up, this includes disc'ing on trash to make the clear quicker.

As you can see as a wizard I took 1st place on the boss parse and overall parse combined. The rangers took the trash mob parse.

Damn didn't know Kontra played a Wizard in your guild.
