Not A Bug MOTM broken Casino broken

    I know it, the devs know it and everyone knows it. Quit being ridiculous and fix agnarr. Remove MoTM, add the casino and make agnarr free to play. It is past time. The devs have done a lot of great things through out the years. Let's keep that going and make agnarr be what it is. PoP locked fun for a small population of faithful players. I appreciate your consideration in fixing what has now become bugs on this server. Thanks have a great new year!

    Neither of those are bugs my dude.

    MotM is intentional on this older content to make up for player power creep.

    The Casino was added early 2004 (around gates, I think they had it in a bit earlier but pulled it due to bugs). LDoN (where the prison server is locked) came out in Sept, 2003.

    Free to play? not that I work for DB, but I'd feel confident saying that's never going to happen.

    I understand perfectly what MoTM was intended for. At this point though, agnarr is no longer a progression server as in agnarr is done progressing/adding any more content. There is no reason to leave MoTM active on this server. The casino was indeed intended to be added earlier like other content including some classic quests that were broken during classic, but are available on progression servers. There needs to be a way to remove plat on this server. We don't have tribute here or a casino so plat and item continue to pile up. Yes, i know a bunch of morons will responsd and say you chose to play on a locked server. What I am asking for is not more content or stuff that is really expansion related. These are quality of life improvements that actually stand to help DB make more cash off this server and bring more players back. Free-to-play makes perfect sense for agnarr being that it would bring more players on to the server and they stand to make more cash off of DB purchases then they do subscriptions for agnarr specifically. I know you probably don't play on Agnarr, so I honestly wonder why on earth you give a rip about something that doesn't affect you...

    There is nothing ridiculous about MoTM, it was designed to counter player power increases put in during the later eras of the game that affected the early game so severely that they trivialised the early game too much, therefore since Agnarr is locked at an early stage of the game there is no reasoned argument that can be made to remove it unless that player power was somehow rolled back in other ways, MoTM is essentially a band-aid solution to a problem that would otherwise take far too much work to fix by other means - so that's why you cannot expect this to be removed on your server.

    The Casino is a little more of a complex situation, here's how the history on it went:

    Launched in the December 18, 2003 patch, it was removed the next day due to being so popular it was causing server issues. It reintroduced on February 10, 2004 along with the launch of Gates of Discord. Two days later it was removed again, for server issues. It returned March 16, 2004, this time to stay.

    The fourth expansion, EverQuest: The Planes of Power, was released on October 29, 2002.

    Given those dates the Casino was not a feature included with Planes of Power, while it did at first appear December 18 2003 the current incarnation did not appear until March 16, 2004 putting the current casino far beyond the scope of Planes of Power - so I see absolutely no reason that you can argue for a PoP-locked server to be granted that feature when your server will never have Gates of Discord Expansion unlocked which the current version of it came with.

    These things are not bugs. They are part of the feature set offered on the Agnarr server, which is Time-Locked to LDoN.

    If you guys don’t play on agnarr then why do you care? Also to argue against adding the casino and removing motm from agnarr is really stupid in that it has zero effect on the rest of the game. Go back to your servers that are patched to live and let agnarr worry about agnarr.

    No. You act like you speak for the entire server and want them to change the rules that it went live with to suit you. So PM your suggestions to some DBG employee if you don't want a discussion, or accept that posting to an open forum will get replies.

    You say that.. but

    Clearly you do not. It has nothing to do with where the server progresses to or where it stops, its to combat how much more powerful we as players are vs the content. Things like the AA all melee get that boosts our dps, the changes to spells over the years (want an example? look at Conflag (live) vs Conflag (p99).

    So no, its pretty clear you DON'T understand why its there.

    Ok then, by what you are saying MoTM needs to be enabled on every server, being that you believe it is intended for servers outside of progression servers. Clearly you don’t understand what it purpose was for. Also I may not speak for the entire server, but I can guarantee you I speak for more players on Agnarr then you do.

    So it’s pretty clear you don’t understand MoTM was intended for progression servers. I have spoken.

    and your still wrong. I'm also done trying to explain it to you. Clearly its either beyond your understanding or your intentionally being thick. You should expect this thread to be closed as not a bug sometime this week when they're back in the office.

    The one thing you are correct about is that it is not a bug. More of a QoL issue. That being said the devs read this forum. Also, you have no response to what I said about your argument. So as it stands you believe MoTM needs to be enabled on all servers being that your belief is that it wasn’t implemented specifically for progression servers. Congrats on contradicting yourself! If it is not for progression servers then enable it everywhere. Also if it is not for PROGRESSION SERVERS then why did they make it to where MoTM eventually disables for earlier xpacs? you said it isnt for prog servers yet not one live server has ever had motm enabled on it. You don’t play on agnarr and you came here to troll and argue.

    They remove motm once a server progresses past a point that Agnarr will never reach. Live servers are already well beyond that.

    Like it or not, Agnarr is a progression server. Even if the timeframe you'll be in the current xpac is Infinite, its still a TLP server. (Time locked progression) Its not a live server, nor will it progress to the point these features come into the game. You chose to play here (as do I, its funny you assume I don't have a beastlord there. You'd be wrong.)

    I know I said I was done replying but I couldn't help myself as I kill time medding. Your still wrong.
