Enjoying Miragul, then I got suspended...

Well I was thoroughly enjoying miragul, its nice to be able to molo the latest (for the server) xpac. I was pottering about in HoT when I saw someone in /1 saying something like 'I got suspended, for no reason'
Poor bloke I thought, then my phone pinged: an email from daybreak, 7 day suspension...
I was sure it was some kind of scam till i tried logging into my account.
Very strange as I don't do anything naughty, no RMT, no programs, no toxic nastiness, nothing.

Anyone else been suspended for no good reason from Miragul?

Same, guess I'll take the 7 days to evaluate if I actually want to play. I realize they probably can't since it would tip off the people that actually cheat, but I wish the email would include specifically how someone "cheated".

Same issue. Just got home decided to login and got the message as well. Went to my email and saw the same email as the above posters on my main account. Not even boxing and have only been doing progression quests with my guild.

The bonus is just bought one of the TLP bag bundles and extra bonus was my first raid tonight lol.

Unattended gameplay can get people with mercs sometimes. Not saying that’s it, just a guess.

I also like how you can't even submit a ticket via the banned account for clarification.

If you're coming back in 7 days then you didn't get banned.

What do you use VMware for? Or is it just sitting on your computer not being used like errybody else.

To the OP: Where did you try logging into your account after receiving this email?

The craziest thing, I noticed that too... like some of these guys have the dream job where they can log 12+ hours a day "working" and they're always the ones getting popped.

Same boat, though I play Mangler. I apparently had a VM program on my PC which I have never used for anything. And yeah I know the trolls are going to say "YEAH SURE YOU DIRTY CHEAT", go ahead. I didn't even know what a VM was until this happened, whether trolls believe it or not doesn't matter, the ones it happened to, they know.

Isn't it a weird surreal feeling to be falsely accused of something? Really weird. It's like you know there's been some mistake and things will just magically correct themselves, then slowly you realize that hang on, maybe they won't. Got to say it is unsettling to think of the hundreds of hours invested in these characters and how I was happily looking forward to going all the way through the expansions, now to know that at any time this kind of thing can happen with no sane appeal process.

Lol.. first off relax, you are not banned, you are suspended. Log back in on a PC without VM software installed, in 7 days, all is good!

I feel for those few who probably got caught up in this somehow, and are innocent. Unfortunately a few innocents sometimes get caught up in things, but not as much as people will try to say it is happening. What people reading these posts are supposed to think is, all these people just happen to have idle VMware on their PC, or did not know they had it on their PC, and DBG is evil and they are victims. Sorry, that is not what we think. What matters is what DBG thinks anyway, and not what the people on the Forums think in this case.

I would also suspect that those that are posting are trying to get DBG to re-instate these accounts, by making it seem that many innocent people were suspended, when they were not. I think that will not work.

It is good that DBG is doing something to address the Cheating, and Cheating it is! Cheating is not winning, and cheating is not accomplishing, it is only cheating. Now DBG, please go after that 1 man, 60 toon raid army please!!

Relax, you say - it is actually fairly hard to relax. You see I did not know that I had a VM program on the machine. I wasn't using it. Didn't know what a VM was until now. So now, I have a strike against my name for this. How do I know something like this won't happen again? How can I relax, knowing I am pumping money and a ton of time into these characters in this game, and that at any moment I can be suspended again, or maybe banned next time due to this previous bullsh*t strike against my name?

If I had been cheating as I was accused of, I would actually think I got off light with 7 days, and I would not be making any noise about it. I did not do what I was accused of. Period. Straight up did not do it. How am I supposed to feel about this? I am missing raids right now and hanging out with my bros over something I did not do. Do you know how this feels? Has a false accusation ever happened to you?

And no I am not in defense of cheaters. Have never cheated in a game in my life, I am old school like that, I like to win a game legit. My brothers used to cheat at solitaire when we were kids, and laugh when I asked them wtf was the point, and I never understood it. From what I hear the cheaters are still running 16 toons right this second like nothing happened. There is something really wrong here.

Refreshing to hear honestly. If they swung the ban-hammer a bit too far, that stinks - but I had friends who actually used VMware to get past the Truebox since Mangler opened with zero issues and I'm quite confident I wasn't the only one.

Part of me is glad they cleaned that up...but I still think Truebox is costing them hundreds or thousands of subs a month.

I'm holding my breath for now with my 3 accounts if they ever decide to make a new server with AoCs and eliminate Truebox.

So at one point in time you specifically downloaded a piece of software that has some very specific uses. Then you forgot you had done that. Then you didn't even know what it was you downloaded?

Come on, it's not like VMware has ad's on FB that say "click here to DL VMware" and you accidentally did that.

More likely what happened is someone googled "truebox bypass". Followed the instructions but had no understanding of what they were doing. One of the people banned even admitted he had downloaded VMware to do this but couldn't get it working.

Since the OP is already in contact with me and this thread is showing signs of going the same way as the others it is locked.
