Nobody wants a "locked" server... hence expansions

People enjoyed eqmac because it was actually challenging and there was a strong community. It didn’t have anything to do with it being locked in PoP.

I disagree, I would totally love to see a TLP locked on Velious or locked on Luclin without the Bazaar feature.

People want to play what they remember, are used to, and are comfortable with. New expansions after pop are scary. Ldon raids are often ignored/skipped. GoD has a lot of hard content and involved quests, with raids that introduce mechanics where a bad players hurt others instead of just themselves, how terrible. People love omens at first but often sour on the raids, since mpg trials are complicated and omm humiliates terrible players.

A tlp expansion might seem promising since it would appeal to tlpers, until the reality set in: new and unknown content, designed by the same devs who design the live content you are so repulsed by. Meanwhile, live eq has hungry players looking to eat up the new and unknown, and they are losing attention for them in that way in favor of a serverset predisposed to rejecting new content.
