Mangler Kunark VP/EPICS

    Progression servers are no longer about racing, but rather all guilds completing content at their own pace. (Hence AOC's)

    So can we please remove bottle necks from the game.
    IE ground spawns for VP key, epic mobs spawning only in live and not in aoc, a zone like chardok that is very contested that has no AOC could use one.

    I'm not asking for easy, double the mitigation buffs on mobs that are already there or even throw in a new mechanic twist. Get rid of the bottle necks on a server that people are trying to see/do/relive the adventure but cannot b/c there are x amount of people doing the same thing b/c all the information is right at our finger tips. People want a challenge, not boredom waiting in line.

    If you are talking about VP and epics this statement is not congruent.

    Clearly the answer is to remove AoC. It's not a classic experience with them.

    They've made significant improvements to major epic bottle necks and the VP keys. You should have no problem completing them in era anymore.

    There is only one epic that comes to mind as a hassle still with one major bottle neck.

    Waiting for game events like boat arrivals and Luclin spire activation was originally part of the game, and allowed players breaks to socialize or at least commiserate.

    Ground spawns and long timer spawns worked from the same perspective, but the game and community both have changed so substantially that these facets no longer work anything like they did back in the day.

    Long duration timed spawns should retain their long timer, but should not immediately despawn when used. Instead, they should linger for 15 minutes or so, allowing players on site to all benefit from the event. Afterward, the NPC or ground spawn should despawn. This removes the garbage gameplay brought on by the competitive mentality in post-PnP EverQuest.

    What have they done for the VP key? What epic?

    There are still several epics that are close to impossible to complete before they become irrelevant - let alone in Kunark era - for anyone that is unable to poopsock certain OW only spawns and have a 24/7 batphone service to draw upon when they do spawn.

    Increased the likelihood of the key piece droppers spawning, multiple times. Increased how quickly the ground spawns appear, multiple times. Making the ground spawns no destroy to make it more difficult to pluck them purely to keep them out of the hands of others. Putting the ground spawns on a route and adding variance to their respawn so people can't predict precisely where and when they'll be and auto-click them. Adding an instanced version of Trakanon. Dramatically increasing the number of key pieces that Trakanon drops.

    All that and it's still a miserable experience nobody wants to do. Classic EQ design was very special

    Thank you for the reply about VP keys.

    The bottlenecks for epics are still very unevenly distributed. Why can’t we have instanced versions of wizard epic Broken Golem? That spawn is going to be a hot mess.

    What about HS key?
    I remember on other TLP was increased spawn of Chancellor of Di`zok and it was random spawn in fort?

    This was changed for all servers and will be the case on Mangler as well.

    If you avoid OW Trak, you won't have to mess with Mabbu training a big old red meanie on you. The QoL improvements on everything else should work out well.

    Not all things about the "classic" experience were good or fun ...like at all, in any way.

    Those things should not be repeated/maintained... like at all, in any way heh

    EQ is a challenge? Can we just be honest here and once and for all realize that EQ is an EASY game? The reason people find it hard is because there are things added to it that made it take longer to get to your goal - hell levels - xp loss on death - corpse runs - etc.

    The game is basically spank and tank. Don't get me wrong, it's fun, but let's not kid ourselves.

    Have you even played the game past PoP? You're spot on in regards to the early expansions, but the game changes drastically.

    Only EverQuest players would log on and sock ground spawns in shifts to ensure other players get denied entrance to the content.

    This is the best solution I've heard for contested content that can't be resolved by a DPS race.

    15 minutes may be a bit too long (you don't want folks who weren't waiting to quickly port over), but the idea is very sound.

    I can't imagine anyone thinks that's a fix when you can warp a level 1 next to any ground spawn and most likely delete him after you pick it up and do it over again. :rolleyes:

    Almost as dumb as trying to catch bots by sending /tells to ask "Are you a bot"
