I've been reading lots about which specialization to go, and I don't understand the lingo, live servers, vs tlp, etc. It seems evocation for higher levels, aka older servers (i assume thats live servers?) What should I be going on Mangler?\ Thank you for any help
Mesmerization spells are Conjuration type Buff spells (clarity and haste) are Alteration type specialization skills save you mana on spell casts of their types, so : you pick. If your play has constraints based on how much mana you spend mezzing, go Conj. If medding up after re-buffing takes ages, then that'd be sped up by spec:Alter.
If you feel you have made a mistake in any specialization (on any class), there is a quest you can do in Temple of Sol Ro (off Lavastorm Mountains) to reset all your specialization skills to 49 so you can pick a new one to be primary. http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=711 So don't be discouraged if you don't like your first choice.
I would do Alter just because that is your charm spell. If you get a few breaks its nice not to save some mana
