The Debuff Slot Crisis - Who to Blame and How to Fix

    casually doubling the power of each dot that lands that way? lol then folks would say necros only good if buff slots are full, we'd be busting out Ring of Ill Touch &

    Anyone else remember the old days when if you ever even mentioned the possibility of revamping/consolidating DoTs all the Necros lost their minds?

    can you all make up your minds cant cry neco take all buff slot and say don't want any dot fix for neco and SK you all confuse me ???

    The only solution to this problem is to increase debuff slots.

    There are some dots that grab an extra slot for one tick, nec dicho for example. Seems like bad design.

    Maybe necos should learn what is good and what is bad dots to use during raids, depending on the number of necros in a raid.

    And other classes as well should learn, a 15 disease is kind of waste, takes debuff where a dot doing 20k+ a tick could have been a lot better.

    Further more change the debuff system, so only 1 debuff of example disease counts, example 100, 50, 40, only the 100 count, the rest is down the drain, Could free a number of slots.

    The problem with reducing the number of buff slots that necros take is that it would allow more necros to raid. Necros do a lot more damage on raid bosses than other classes, so if you reduce the number of slots that necros use, that would allow raids to include more necros, increasing raid overall dps, making events more trivial. Bottom line is that if there is a necro revamp, it would need to reduce necro overall dps so that having 8 necros in a raid would not be OP.

    That's one reason why I'm hoping revamps happen with the next expansion.

    But really, it's OK for mid-expansion patches that make it easier for players to beat existing content. I think that's part of the normal MMO flow of mudflation.

    Thats simply not true as every class has downsides and weaknesses.

    Right now zerkers destroy everyone in almost any setting its not unless they don't have adps or fights go over like 7 minutes on a single target or when necros can AE multiple mobs with dots that someone beats them. And its been this way for a few years now. Yet you don't see every roster running 8 berserkers which they are free to do with zero stacking issues. Events could be more trivialized like this yet no one is here claiming zerker dps should go down if more than 4 are present. Guilds build their rosters based on talent, yes class power to a degree but also with some variability knowing that some stuff requires melee, some caster, some a blend for the various tasks at hand. Guilds won't suddenly drop wizards and mages from their rosters but you will see a guild wanting more than 2 to 3 in replacement for poor or bad play.
