Killing EPIC/Quest Spawns Mobs - DV/GM HELP!

We all realize you won't police or even recognize camps or KSing of normal mobs. That is fine and we all accept that.

However, there is a big difference between KSing normal spawned mobs and EPIC/QUEST triggered mobs.

You can't allow this, and I don't believe that you do. But recently I had my SPAWNED mob stole, ruining my quest progression (lost my turn in item). Now I am forced to redo this ENTIRE long quest line because some jerks thought it would be funny to kill my SPAWNED mob.

I petitioned and this GM tells me a canned response that "KSing isn't recognized" but I am 100% positive that killing SPAWNED quest mobs is not ok. Otherwise you could just follow someone around and kill their last epic fight and loot the turn in. This is blatant griefing and is not allowed.

Would a DEV/Head GM please clarify and make a post confirming this.

The GM should give you your turn in item back. That is all they will do though.

"dps racing" a triggered mob is against the rules, unless it has been changed.

open world spawns, yes. Triggered mobs, no

Can a GM/Dev please respond here -this is a serious issue. If you can just KS someone at the end of a quest and steal all their work that is crazy.

Working as intended with the extremely limited customer service/GM support DBG currently has available. Maybe someone will have a few moments to give you back your turnin items, but don't count on it.

First of all, that sucks dude and I am sorry to hear that happened to you. I wish nothing but the worst for the folks who did that to you.

Second of all, as a player with an upcoming epic spawned mob fight...I think a dev clarification would help allow me to plan accordingly.

I highly doubt they will do anything at all. Unless

The best way to get there attention is to swear at them, be a total piece of bovine excrement.
Not exactly as the rules should be but it seems to work.

Challenging behaviour also works, you will get told off for that. ;)
So there fore it seems unless you kick up a fuss. They won't do nada.

edit the term I was warned for was :)

    Warning: Challenging Moderation

Did you start it while others were in the zone?

    For example ...
    Coldain Ring #6
"Poxbreath Yellowfang" is trigger-spawned in the orc camp, but what if you have a camper there?
I think you need to negotiate before you begin.

I do not know because your situation is not written.
What is the mob you trigger-spawn?
  9. Tierdal Augur

Angry Goblin - i spawned it with my quest turn in and then a certain railroad member decided to run up and burn it with their ranger disc.
  10. GNOME_POWER Augur

I think "an angry goblin" will not trigger-spawn.
    Isn't it ”Warlord Skargus"?
  11. Tierdal Augur

`Yes, i turned in my quest peice and this ranger from railway ks'd warlord
  12. Captain Video Augur

If this is the Regal Band quest in Chardok, I've done this one before myself, and "an angry goblin" is indeed a triggered spawn, and on an approx. 72 hr respawn timer if it dies, so killing it is truly mean. IIRC, you're supposed to hail the angry goblin when he's up, give him the report you've obtained previously, and then follow him to meet Warlord Skargus. Quest can't be completed by any other path.

EDIT: KS'ing the Warlord is even worse, as you need to loot his head to turn in for the ring, meaning the entire quest line would have to be done over again.

This happened a couple of times on Ragefire. The GM would delete the head on the one who KS'd the Warlord and transfer it to the one who triggered the spawn.

By Phinny, most figured out to do a their final Raid log in Frontier Mountains with a squad rdy to Pick over once it came up. I assume he still instantly spawns in the new pickzone

You are toxic. You just post in every thread, even when people bring up legitimate grievances. You calling other people 40 year old babies is interesting considering how you spend your time.

You sound like a tool and part of the toxic community that is responsible for KS'ing these triggered mobs.

I would recommend recording that quest turn and escort to the warlord so you have evidence.

It's also a good idea to plan for this kind of interference on TLP servers. Some of these tips don't work for the warlord.
    • Spawn a fresh pick of the zone
    • Do a /who and pay attention to who is in zone. Assume anyone who is anon with no guild tag is up to no good.
    • Check for players that might be hiding out invis looking steal a triggered turn in.
    • Think about what you can do to safeguard yourself based off the specifics of the event.

An example of this using the Lake Rathetear portion of the cleric epic:
Turning in Lord Bergurgle's Crown to Shmendrik Lavawalker only spawns Natasha Whitewater in the cabin. If you kill Schmendrik Lavawalker without turning in the crown, A spirit of Flame will still spawn and drop the damaged crown. Players will kill him and get the damaged crown and hideout in the cabin, when the person who just camped Lord Bergurgle comes and turn his crown in, Natasha pops the person in the cabin does the hand in while the player that triggered it is still killing the other npc's for the damage crown. In this case you should check for invis players, possible even preloot the damage crown, and have someone else turn in Lord Bergurgle's crown for you.

Hoping for a GM solve the problem for you is bad idea, it can take days, and won't always get the results you want. If you have evidence sometimes publicly shaming them can work, it depends on how the people they play with feel about that kind of behavior.
  17. Tierdal Augur

The railroad guild on Selo is immune to any shaming. They think it is their world and we are just in the way.

Anyone mocking anyone for being upset their work is completely undone by kill stealing (IE ganking a spawned mob where the person loses all their quest progress), is either a troll here to rile you up or just a mean spirited manbaby. I'd just ignore them.

Please DBG , clarify that this is not only wrong but that the punishment is severe.

The irony of this post is palpable. Give your head a wobble.

This quest line is supposed to be doable solo. Expecting a player to have to stage a group of other toons to launch a /pick isn't a reasonable workaround solution, IMHO. If it was me, I would simply monitor the zone and look for a chance at odd hours to do the turn in unobserved. Such is the nature of the game these days.
