Hey all, returning after a few xpacs away. Wanted to start from lvl 1 with a mage and just box 1 with mercs. I want to start at level 1 because I see the level of auto granted aa is a lot to process all at once for me. Used to main a bard and enchanter, looking for a suggestion to go with mage. Playing on fv server so I have a bit of plat.
Chanter is the best pair for mage imo. I box mage chanter as my main 2 box crew. SK is a good option just because they’re the most OP class. Bard also works well because they can do what mages lack (cc/pull) although personally I don’t like boards for 2 box groups, they’re better suited for full groups Oddly enough another solid option I like to play with my mage is monk. Monk is excellent at pulling so you can avoid a need for much CC etc and can split tank or send a swarm if you get an add. Since monks are great dps... this is probably the best option for grinding easy trash mobs for exp. Druid/ranger also will work well
