EverQuest Inventory Report - January 2019 Update

For those interested in the EverQuest Inventory Report (EQIR) program: http://everquest.fanra.info/wiki/EverQuest_Inventory_Report , I've updated it to version 2.6, which will work after the January 16, 2019 game update, which changes the names of the output files.

Version 2.6 will not work with the output files with the old name format (without the server name), so you have to wait until after January 16, 2019 game update and create the output files then.

A big improvement is the All Items search will now search the entire name of items.

Before, if you typed "Diamond" into the search it would find "Diamond" and "Diamond-Studded Ring" and all items that begin with the word "Diamond". However, it would not find "Blue Diamond" or any instance of the word "diamond" unless the item name began with it.

This is obviously not optimal. Now, with new version 2.6, it should find every single item that has the word "diamond" (or whatever you enter) no matter where in the name it is.

I've also added a Setup Wizard to help you enter the needed details, like where your EQ folder is, and the names of your characters.

It's been a few years since I worked on EQIR and now that I'm back, I hope to find the time to make some more improvements. It was really very unfinished. I plan to re-write the base character item display code and enable a lot better views and new features.

In the meantime, it is still very good for searching all your items on all your characters.

Nice to see some updates to this, I still struggle with managing my inventory across my many toons and mules :)

I am currently working on version 3.0. It is a major code re-write. This should make it much easier to add new features going forward.

In addition, there is a new UI, which I consider better, especially on smaller screens or windows.

If you wish to use the current beta, which is version 3.0.0.0 Beta I (letter i, not roman numeral 1) you can download it here: https://everquest.fanra.info/eqir/beta/EverQuest Inventory Report Test v3.0.0.0 Beta I.exe

This version is just a single file which you can place (almost) anywhere and double click it to run. Nothing else should be needed.

When the program is running, it will say at the top, to the right of the program icon: EverQuest Inventory Report v3.0 DRAFT I

Keep this in mind, as the Help > About only says Version 3.0.0.0 and does not mention it is a beta or draft version. You can always depend on what it says up top when running to let you know.

There are a number of bugs of which do not crash the program that I am aware of and working on:

    Non-crashing bugs:
    1. You may be asked to enter you characters twice.
    2. The Setup Help text is missing.
    3. If you don't have 14 characters added, it displays the buttons for them anyway as "[]".
If the program does not run or crashes, please let me know if it is not on this list of known crashing bugs:

    Crashing bugs:
    1. If the location of the EverQuest folder is not set and you are asked to set it by the Setup Wizard and you do not (you click the Cancel button instead of setting it), the program crashes.
    2. If you are asked by the Setup Wizard to enter your characters and you do not enter any (you click the Cancel button instead of the Update List button), and there are none listed , the program crashes.

Also, if you find this useful, please go to this issue on the Daybreak Community Issue Tracker: https://dgcissuetracker.com/browse/EQ-1576 and vote for it.

The lack of being able to know mercenary gear currently on the mercenary, and items on the Illusion, Mount, and Familiar key rings, reduces the effectiveness of this.

The Daybreak Community Issue Tracker is a community run site. Do NOT use the same user name or password there that you use for EQ (Daybreak services).

    Version 3.0 is now out.

I really wanted to do more but feature creep would have delayed it and I can always release more versions.

It is no longer a problem upgrading as it now has an export and import for the settings, making it easy when I release a new version.

Go here to get it: http://everquest.fanra.info/wiki/EverQuest_Inventory_Report

When I went there the first time I did not immediately realize that. I have spoken to other folks who did not either. Many thanks for posting the info. publicly.

Well, the worn items grid didn't show all the augmentations correctly. I've fixed that in a beta that should go live soon™.

I want to expand it to show all the augmentations on each worn item. Anyone know the maximum number of augmentations an item can have?

Oops, extremely embarrassing bug in 3.1. Fixed 3.1.1 version now available.

I was playing the game of work which aug to replace the other day, so had a look at my equipped augs using version 3.0.
Whilst it does list them it was hard to do a simple comparison because it just lists them in order found on items, and of course items have different numbers of slots, so sometimes slot one is type 3, sometimes type 5 and so on. It would be nice if there was someway to show them by type - so I could have column showing just my type 5 for example, or my type 7/8. Not sure it that sort of thing is possible or if anyone but me would want it :)

This is an excellent suggestion and I'm sure it is wanted. Unfortunately, I do not see any way to do it.

Right now, all my program does is take what is in the game generated output files and arrange that information. The output files only give a limited amount of information, for example:

    Location Name ID Count Slots
Charm Coin of the Ancient Empires 148750 1 6

So, all I have is the location, name, ID, count (quantity) and number of slots for each item. In order to get more information, I would need (or have access to) a database containing such information.

There are a number of internet accessible databases that do, which is how my program is able to have buttons that will take you to the Lucy and Magelo listings of items. However, how to access details on each item programmatically is not something I know how to do.

Lucy (and perhaps other sites) does provide "raw" data on items, as shown in this link: http://lucy.allakhazam.com/itemraw.html?id=147258

I would need to be able to gather the exact information needed from that.

I can, however, direct you toward a website which can provide you with what you need. If you go to http://www.raidloot.com/ and create a profile there, you can then upload your output inventory file and pick "More Details...". That will show you not only worn augmentations, but all the ones you have. It breaks them down by type and you can sort the list by stats.

The in-game Find Item button works pretty well for me
  14. Tatanka Joe Schmo

Not very well, it can only look at one stat at a time.

The feature on Raidloot mentioned by Fanra works much better. I just discovered this the other day, it's pretty slick. And you can add weightings, for a really in-depth comparison of items.
  15. Tatanka Joe Schmo

I have a question about the Raidloot feature mentioned here. It's great that it lets you enter weights for the various stats, but my problem is, I have no idea how to weight them. Mainly what I'm looking at is, how should AC be weighed vs. agility, Stam vs HPs, AC vs. HPs, things like that.

I know resists and plain stats can be weighted at 0, since they're all capped.
  16. Fanra https://everquest.fanra.info

Sorry, I don't use the weights. I just look for more HP for my druid and more AC for my monk. Yeah, I am bad at min/maxing.
