Thanks for the shout out =) My website isn't very useful for people who are max level which is probably why I am the red headed step child of the EQ websites. I have never even got a gift basket or a thank you from Daybreak like Eqresource and some of the other websites have gotten. Most of my information helps people get back into the game and leveled up after a long break, I don't cover high end quests or progression like EQresource and Allakhazam because they've already got things covered very well. This is fine with me but it typically leads to me being made fun of by people failing to acknowledge the value my website does provide. At least a few times a year I am told how useless my website is because I write guides for "expansions behind the current one" The irony of this is, if I decided to write guides for current expansion stuff, I would likely be told by these same people that I am just copying EQresource -_- .. A very valuable lesson my website has taught me is that with some people - there's no way of pleasing them! =P
I really liked Raspers repository .. they went back many expansions DoN and SoD to name a few..I'm glad Fanra has a link to Raspers on her site via the links page. that information from past expansions is hard to come by so im glad there are sites like Fanra's , Zam, Almar's so people can get back into EQ and have a place to go to get most if not all the info they need.. so far ive only gone back as far as HoT , however I know at least for now if I want to hit up SoD or UF or DoN there is a place I can go to look up progression besides Zam , however zam only goes back to SoD progression.. yes Zam you can look up any quest from any expansion , but having a place that lists progression from past expansions laid out is nice ..
This is why I mostly do guides for "expansions ago" that the TLPs are on instead of live. Since HoT EQresource has done a fantastic job covering progression but prior to HoT there is surprisingly little information out there. I feel that my time is better spent writing guides for the older expansions where there is little information instead of trying to compete with EQresource who is already doing a fantastic job. The only reason for me to cover HoT - RoS quests and progression would be incase EQresource ever closed their doors. Hopefully that never happens because I don't think I alone could pick up the slack, I truly understand how much work they put into EQresource and I am truly, deeply grateful for it.
there should be multiple layers of information from different sources .. jic you never know what could happen .. I hope EQ and the EQ wealth of information sites such as yours , EQR and Fanra will be around for a long time..
There is also Paul Lynch who has quite a few nice walk thrus. I specifically like his http://www.paullynch.org/eqguide/guides/jonas-dagmires-skeletal-hand/ So thank you all, big or small, who contribute to the ongoing saga of "where do I hunt at level 1?"
Some other sites that are packed with info albeit not always presented in the slickest format. http://www.bonzz.com/bonzz.htm His BiC guide alone saved me so much grief. https://www.eqinterface.com/ Turning the default UI into something usable since 2000. http://www.jaburt.com/eq/index.htm Collection of slightly more esoteric hints and tips. /wave Hazimil. http://www.raidloot.com/ Not just for raid loot despite the name. So much more. http://www.eqmaps.info/ Brewell's excellent maps. http://www.townshiprebellion.com/tradeskills-home Adetia's amazing tradeskill resource. https://eq.magelo.com/items Magelo's amazing database for items, zones, spells etc.
Good list. I have more here http://everquest.fanra.info/wiki/Links Just to mention, he's got a ton of information but you would never know it by just going to that link (no menu or links). Instead, go to a search engine (like Google) and enter site:bonzz.com for the list.
