If I'm missing something, someone please inform me. For part of the Berserker epic you need a shaman-made Philter of Major Translocation. Is this combine doable on Phingel? Right now we have TLP alchemy as far as I know, and a Gate Potion does not work for the epic combine. I searched every alchemy vendor for the supplies to attempt the Philter and found them all save one, Handful of Prisim Grains. I am wondering if it was inadvertently left out. It is only vendor sold, not a mob drop, so if it's not on any vendor there is nothing we can do. Please look into this. If I am mistaken somehow, please let me know where to find the Grains. Has anyone on Phinny completed the Berserker epic?
If I remember correctly on Fippy Berserkers had to get the Philter via the shadowhaven casino for a number of expansions for this very reason. I've seen at least 1 berserker epic so far on Phinigel so it is at least completable atm.
I can confirm you can get the Philter potion from Casino, which gonna make two happy zerkers happy in my guild when they log on and look in their parcel. I was bored at work and knew a Friend who were busy with work atm that had collected all the dropables for gold ticket quests we could get through phinigel, so i just started funneling plat into that casino for the last parts (Gold Ticket Quest, look it up on Zam). I thought I just wasted a lot of plat until i heard our new beserkers complaining about this Philter of Major Translocation not in game etc and remember I got two off my 70k brainfart earlier. I don't believe you only get two of them out of 70k, but you could get unlucky.
Verified. Handful of Prism Grains is restricted to Omens of War. Changed restriction to Gates of Discord so that the Berserker epic can be completed in era without relying on the King's Court Casino.
It's technically possible to hotfix this. Would require updating some or all of the zones that have a vendor that sells the Handful of Prism Grains with new merchant list requirement associations.
Your two statements contradict each other. First says that it can be completed without relying on the Casino, but the second says that you would have to change the current state. So really we have to rely on the Casino even though you changed the coding?
Is it possible to do this just for one zone (say, West Freeport) so people can get it but the dev team doesn't have to go crazy popping multiple zones?
Yep. We might do this if updating every zone that has a Handful of Prism Grains vendor is burdensome. I've been meaning to write up a stickied post that I can refer to that explains the process of how a change gets to Live. I'll start writing that up now. This is going to be cleaner and, well, less burdensome, than explaining the patch process each time I post about a bug that's just been fixed internally. Also, every time someone refers to a design data change as coding, I die a little inside.
My point is that you say one thing first and then contradict it later. And as far as the coding issue. We all die a little inside things like this are not changed after 6 progression servers now?
Not to worry. There are easily enough legacy issues to fix / improve / tweak in EverQuest to keep us busy for the rest of our lives, with or without dying a little inside on a semi-frequent basis. If I'm reading what you're saying right, you see a contradiction in that I explained that something was fixed, but also that it needed a hotfix before that change was on Live servers?
He didn't contradict himself, you just didn't understand him. He's fixed it internally. The changes have already been made to their internal database. That fix still needs to be pushed to the live servers though, through either a hotfix or patch. That hasn't happened yet. He's discussed several possibilities to make it happen.
