Any word? Steadily moving our way thru Feb and haven't heard anything. Has anyone else?
  2. Xanathol Augur

They aren't the only classes left either.
  3. moogs Augur

Druids are also waiting, though we're further down the priority list.
  4. Brohg Augur

Doesn't work that way Moogs. Shd & Dru are next to roll out. Shm & Necro will be last

Looks like Druids are getting changed this patch.

jup Dot class Number 1 is last...sound right lol...
  7. Brohg Augur

the class with whom it's most critical to Get It Right, and the class for whom the changes will necessarily be most complex - yes, they're the goal, not what a smart dev starts with on first pass.

My reaction when I saw the DoT changes were finally being worked on again:

They have had a year it has nothing to do with getting it right and everything to do with having the time. We are just sol because they picked us last. They could have done us in the middle after seeing the impact on a few other classes. The class this impacts the most is sol for at least another month probably more as other stuff comes onto the devs plate.

See below about getting it right. Don't tell me they tuned that base damage around the tools shaman have as far as crit rate, crit mods, twincast and mana regen. Will see with druids considering they have 5 minute reuse twincast. More classes tempted to use a dot or two at all times to eat even more debuff slots.

Quick look at spells on test and some rk 3 druid dots are 11k, 24k and 32k base. From my eyeball test that doesn't seem like getting it "right" considering crit rates, crit mods, spell twincast, ITC, etc. Its just here you go.

A little more about "them getting it right". Shaman mana regen I think you would agree is pretty good and this dot is pretty efficient since its meant to be spammed in a group setting or on trash based on its tuning and change in recast.

Shaman have a passive 56% crit rate. Passive 475% crit mod for dots. In a group setting or trash on raids, assuming EoK raid focus, if they are free to do things this dot alone is 185,645 damage per tick or almost 40k dps from a single cast that only requires one cast every 18s. Never mind if they are totally free to dot away with other dots or cast this on multiple targets at once.

    Serpentil's Venom Rk. III:
    - Mana Cost changed from '2085' to '5164'
    - Recast Time changed from '24' to '1.5'
    - Slot 2 changed from 'Decrease Current Hit Points by 7300 per tick if Not Raid Boss' to 'Decrease Current Hit Points by 32547 per tick'
    - Slot 3 changed from 'Decrease Current Hit Points by 2555 per tick if Raid Boss' to ''
    - Description changed from 'Fills your target's veins with a fast-acting venom, causing 7300 damage every six seconds for 12s (2 Ticks). This venom will do less damage to exceptionally strong targets.' to 'Fills your target's veins with a fast-acting venom, causing 32547 damage every six seconds for 12s (2 Ticks).

Or how damned are necros if mana costs like this show up on our raid dots. But seems like they are "very carefully formulating" these dot changes like you explain.

    Reef Crawler Blood Rk. III:
    - Mana Cost changed from '2175' to '27125'
    - Slot 2 changed from 'Decrease Current Hit Points by 2675 per tick' to 'Decrease Current Hit Points by 32547 per tick'
    - Description changed from 'Fills your target's blood with poison, causing 2675 damage every six seconds for 42s (7 Ticks).' to 'Fills your target's blood with poison, causing 32547 damage every six seconds for 42s (7 Ticks).''

Really surprising that SKs haven't been adjusted yet... we only have 6 DoT lines, shoulda been cake.

Agree especially since they will probably ignore your tools as well.
  16. Kunon Augur

It wasn't just Shaman and Druids that got DoTs boosted in this patch, but Beastlords and Rangers are also getting the DoT lines that they share with their parent classes boosted too. I guess that is why the class order was what it was since that will effect the TLPs. He went all the way back to level 1 and boosted everything, removed the recast timers on swifts (1.5s now instead of 24s), and removed the raid mob damage penalty (2nd damage line along with text references are gone) to go along with it.

The mob debuff window is going to be even more packed once this hits Live and the TLPs.

Definitely need to focus efforts on all that rampant druid dotting clogging up the raid debuffs!
  18. fransisco Augur

You are aware that the twincast spell which druids/mages/wizards share only does nukes and not dots? And the reuse on the spell is longer than 5 minutes.
  19. Brohg Augur

    is 5 minutes.
  20. Forcallen Augur

Except it does work for dots and rk 3 is 5 minute reuse. Should probably check your info before posting. Necros originally had this spell on beta and it was taken away the week before launch, I can assure you it worked just fine on dots. Its just druids never had a reason to use it on dots before. Improved Twincast also works just fine for dots.
