Alright this is not entirely true, so I'll try and set the record straight a little bit since you seem to be on a witch hunt. Never once did the person asking for help ever state that others owed him for things he did for them in game, someone else had pointed out all the things he's done in game for others as a reference to his character. And no where was it said that this was being done instead of looking for more work (he's already found some new work in the few days since the original post).

IMO you never know what life is going to throw at you, some people are more fortunate then others, and sometimes people need some help and ask friends if they can/are willing to help. I've had to ask for help in the past myself as being a college student making wages atm times get rough sometimes, but that's life I could easily have a better paying job then I do atm, but I choose not to so I can finish school and hopefully make even more money here in the near future. Trying to bash someone cause they hit a hard time in life is pretty low, it takes courage just to ask others for financial help in desperate times, trust me I've let bills go unpaid instead of just asking to borrow money from RL friends that I know will give it to me with out batting an eye.

My personal feelings, not unless you agreed to owe them something at the time that they helped you.

If it's an especially bad situation it is better to get out sooner rather than waiting around, with or without another offer.

I think you should use a bit of common sense and not post peoples dirty laundry for everyone to see

Sounds to me like Bubbles is misrepresenting the situation to gain responses to back up his opinion on the matter, by framing the question the way that he did he is clearly showing his bias.

Everyone can fall on hard times & sometimes your friends will rally to your aid to help you & sometimes that help is misconstrued. Perhaps reading your question out loud to yourself before you posted it would have saved you the public embarrassment.

I held off making a comment on the Triton forums, I really did, I had one typed up and everything, but I just let it go. Now you've brought it here, so you got yourself a trout slap (+10 internets for anyone who gets this as an old IRC reference).

I wasn't aware that raiding was a requirement to post on the forums. But just to be clear, yeah I still do check the forums from time to time, although not as much ... why am I even going over this?

Well what you just read was: #1 op did not know how to form a complete sentence (as so many do not nowadays) so #2 everyone misread it and thought it was a question about whether or not someone should already have a job lined up or not before they quit, when it was really about #3 some guy who was asking for money help on a go fund me account from his guildies which #4 someone else said the typing looked like someone else still so #5 that person got mad #6 now everyone has the idea of what is going on. Folks are getting upset and I am just wondering where is EM who usually pops in here to really get things riled up.

If you can quit without having one lined up do it. If you have skills employee's look for that make it easy to find another job do it. If you don't have these things and you have a family to support you're an idiot if you quit before finding another job and selfish.

I have a good job that I hate but I owe it to the kids to tough it out even if it means 90 hour weeks every week. I miss stuff I miss them. But I'm honest with myself no one else is going to pay me as well as I get paid with my outdated skill set.

I watch people here especially in management get their masters degree paid for by the company and put in a 2 week notice and they are escorted off the property by the police 30 minutes later. I have a buddy that was making 100k here quit and have 10 job offers from the Friday he put out a resume to the Monday when he checked his email. It depends how marketable you are. There's plenty of crap jobs out there. If you have one it shouldn't be a problem finding another crap job. But good jobs aren't easy to come by and jobs in general aren't real easy to get now it's a buyers market.
