Has anybody done Arx 1 recently? We were bored and went back to try it for the heck of it and work on a few missing achievements. Killed of first wave with ease. Started 6 min timer section and killing the next group. Within seconds of the group breaking formation Firona died. We had a few people watching her health and there was not even time to get off a heal. Tried again and exact same result with more trying to watch and heal her. She was always a pansy and died to fast but seems to have gone from dieing easily to dieing instantly with no time to heal her. Just curious if others have seen a change in how fast she dies.
We did it on Sunday, took us 2 goes, but it usually takes us 2 goes as arx 1 is as far as we've gotten in tds yet.
We've done this event a couple times recently for app loot, didn't have any problem with keeping FV alive. If you're concerned that she is going to run off when you change pillars, consider using Bestow DA on her.
Sounds like you just didn't have a player agro all the mobs, so they combo-clobbered her. My guild also did Arx1 this week with no problems
I recommend using a cleric divine aura on Firiona when she initially activates so that it gives you time to lock the loose mobs down without fear of them swarming her.
Your problem may be the magio during Phase 2. Even if you mez the squads as Phase 2 goes active, the magio are unaffected. They are immune to spells and damage until their squad formation breaks, but they are still capable of casting spells and, more importantly for Firiona, meleeing nearby targets. Firiona's target selection in all events is really bizarre and she frequently tries to attack invulnerable targets, like the books during event #2. As others have said, Bestow DA on Firiona as you transition into Phase 2, and it's a safe bet to do that for her for every Phase transition of every event, because she likes to do dumb/suicidal stuff before mobs are under control.
