Interesting. Wish more people thought like Dupree. He seems to see the big picture long term for the health of the server. Hope there are more hidden gems like that out there.

Though, didn't dupre simply back down and let them roll over the other guilds against the best interests of the rotation itself? I also get the feeling that they are going to sit back and wait to act until the fan and the poopsocks meet at last, it'll be a smelly affair so remember enduring breath.

Is anyone really surprised?

Unless DBG steps in and either enforces the rotation once again, or instances all the raid bosses, then Lockjaw (and Ragefire) are doomed to go the route of Vulak and Fippy. The only difference will be that the top guild on Lockjaw is a giant zerg.

I would love these servers to remain healthy, and have longer expected lifespans. Most people would, I believe. That won't happen unless these issues are addressed soon.

How are the most generic personalities always the biggest trouble makers?

Efreeti isn't FFA because one guild says so. Everything is FFA because DBG doesn't feel like enforcing rotations.

Just like back in the day the majority of players didnt see alot of this content till after Kunark was released. Enjoy your TLP experience. There are other games out there that can cater to your needs. TLP can't and DBG wont change that... just accept it and move on and be happy the guild that has shown its ability to take down targets effectively is sharing.

FI might be a little disingenuous but I don't think there is much wrong here. DBG left it up to the guilds to choose which agreements they want to make and follow.

This. The decisionmaking is lacking greatly if they are planning to instance the no box server and not bring the benefits to RF/LJ.

If they manage to instance a new server it's inevitable that they will roll it out to the others as well. Daybreak flip-flops all of the time, just because Roshen say something today doesn't mean that will still be the case tomorrow.

There isn't really any need to drag RF into your drama. With rotation enforcement removed there is not really any raid drama going on (unless you count the VP loot removal). I am not sure what this talk of the servers being "doomed" because of rotations being removed but I'd almost wager that RF's morale is even higher now because we can finally play EverQuest again instead of LawyerQuest.

I don't think the servers are doomed, but the chat in the leader's channel is a problem and frankly I think that things are going to end up turning against faceless if they continue how they act. Seriously most people will read that and go "What the is wrong with him". Though I also think that instancing is probably on it's way at some point so this all will be moot, except for faceless being hated. Go figure.

I don't think the servers are doomed. It really just depends on what sort of greed low and mid tier guilds try and produce that will hurt them. I understand some may say that's unfair, but some people rise to the top for a reason. That's how the world works. Though these days you see more socialism and handouts due to laws and/or enforcements. You can argue that the top guild is greedy, but it's a moot argument because they are the ones that fought and worked hard to get there to begin with.

What happens in this situation and what I mean by greed is; currently FI is LJ's top guild. FI backs the rotation and wants others to experience content in era. However, as you can see FI's leadership would prefer Efreeti cycle to be FFA, not given to them, but just FFA. So they give up their handout of the efreeti as well. Most the guilds didn't complain because they understand that if they fight it, it's a losing battle in the long run. They're happy with dragons/gods/sky days. Because they understand it could be much worse and aren't greedy and appreciate what they get. They choose not to compete, and that's 100% cool. Nothing against that play style. In this situation MM is upset because they were left out. FI had their reasons and the other guilds backed them up. Obviously this shows that MM doesn't have the support they think they had/have. If they truly wanted a fair raiding environment they wouldn't be causing this stink over Efreeti. They'd accept it and go compete for that 1 target. Instead they want to act like children and cause a ripple that will effect every other guild.

In the end, this should be interesting how it all plays out.

Lastly, I want to agree with someone here, Dupre is a great guy. I had the pleasure of talking to him one night after some MiM pulled a few of my mobs in Fear. Their raid leader, Crucial?, was also super respectful. They have some good guys in their guild and have 100% of my personal respect. Even with the BS between FI and MM I have shown respect to some MM members who deserve it. I have rezzed some of their guys etc.. I've seen a few of their mages at camps in LGuk and Efreeti and have left them alone. I tend to mind my own business in game. Unless someone attacks me first, I've very civil personally. However if someone shows me disrespect due to my guild tag, I can understand as it comes with the territory and has happened, but I will play ball if it comes down to it.

Define back them up? They were strong armed and given no choice. The only thing that Faceless will get by forcing others around whatever way they please in such a brilliantly fashion (literally , these kinds of attitudes will get in your way more than help) will force other guilds to team up against them. That won't be a pretty picture.

Also, wanting a fair raiding environment INCLUDES efreeti. So again that's a mistake in your statement. The rotation was set and agreed to and faceless is going back on their word in multiple ways. They didn't include MM cause it is known that MM won't put up with their . This is nothing but faceless looking to strong arm guilds and put MM into a situation where they have no choice. If I was ever a part of FI and I saw my leader talking like that in a leader chat I'd deguild.

Backed up as in not fighting it. They understand their position and FI's position and no there's no point in trying to fight it. Again, be fortunate FI allows these mobs to be rotated. They could lock down 90% of the targets if they wanted, but they don't. I don't think you understand that. Whether it's right or wrong, it could happen and given what MM is doing over 1 raid target, it could just happen. But at the end of the day, welcome to EQ, competitive open world raiding since 99'!

Didn't read, but from what I understood was a new rotation was worked out after the balance of power was restored.

As for efreeti going FFA, this impacts only a few guilds directly. Now it's a contested raid target instead of a loot pinata.

Everyone has equal opportunity with it FFA so no one is being denied any opportunities. This really is no big deal other than some tears about 'muh free loots' by one or two guilds that don't want to contest targets and just want to try to make FI look bad.
