instance bugs

There are two major mechanical flaws with instances, appart from the fact that they can be exploited for multi farming and obviously will create instant mudflation in the game.

    1. When groups zone into an instance, they should land in the same and not seperate instances. I believe that SOE thought that out when they released eq2 10 years ago. But apperantly the new team have forgotten this.

    2. When someone die they should automatically land in the same instance as their corpse. It can be hard enough finding a corpse with only 1 instance. Now suddenly it can be in 10 different instances..

    wtf is that?

Its when the market becomes so overflowed with items that formerly was valuable, that the market and the items turns into Mud. It was a standard phraise on my old server 10 years ago :)

Inflation won't matter. The group thing isn't a huge deal, allows you to cc 2 different instances to find out where you want to go.

The corpse thing though, I could see how that could be an issue.

Dont worry with TL, Ceaseless, DHS, TFO etc all camping the "Valuable" loot and selling for kronos you wont have to worry about mudflation for some time to come.

You have lost any credibility that you might have had by implicating all of these guilds in one sentence.

    Uhm, no.

Mudflation is what happens to gear as the game matures and more expansions are added. Most game developers simply boost the stats on items with each new expansion, so rather than +10 hp/mana items you get +20, or worse, +100. The alternative is to create items with new and different abilities (ie: focus items). The end result is that the numbers just keep getting bigger, which trivializes older content and prevents players in older gear from being able to participate in new content. EQ suffers from mudflation signficantly, although the early expansions weren't as bad as more recent ones.

The term actually comes from MUDs (multi-user dungeons) which were the text-based precursors to MMOs and which EQ itself is heavily based on (albeit with a graphical UI).

Another thing with the instances, is that when there gets to be under a certain number of people it should start collapsing them. I have seen cases where there were multiple instances of a zone with 12-15 people in them. Those should be collapsed so that there is at least maybe zone cap/2, zone cap/3 people in them. That would help so there are more people to play with and cut down on system resources that aren't needed to be used at that time.

One group member has a rabies dot on him, he is unable to /pick and join his group in another instance because he can't use /pick while "in combat." Please fix this.
