What classes get "block" abilities and/or AAs?

Silkies are at the point in the game where more ac has a minor effect compared to avoidance. Staff block has been parsed to fire A LOT more than shield block.
Other posts mention a 2-3X fire rate for staff vs. shield block.

Yep. It's important to remember that more ranks in an ability doesn't mean that it's more (or less) effective than another ability. AAs don't tend to mention their effectiveness per a level, and ones that are named differently but do the same thing can vary by huge amounts.

The main issue for 1h/2h for silkies is that while it would be trivial for a raiding silkie to loot a dozen melee weapons to stick on their wall the itemization Dev can't be bothered to actually itemize weapons for 3 of the classes and the 4th silkie is even more screwed because of some absurd obsession about never placing an Epic focus on another weapon because Enc getting a higher DoT crit rate would be game breaking.

    2h - Symp Mana options

Staff of Unforgivable Folly 188 - if you ask your guild to do VoA Pillar raid and 40 total T4 VoA raids if it doesn't drop all I ask is you PM me a screeenshot or link to the convo
Archon's Battlestaff 150 - trivial item to get from group content in VoA Valley
Archstave of Terris-Thule 150 - similar stats to Archon but 17 more spell damage and one Slot 8 from Upper House, reasonably easy to get unless the RNG punches you in the face
Dreamstaff of Reverie 150 - best stats of the 150 procs, lowest spell damage, Sanctum4 raid which is ridiculously easy, if you wanted to get it beat SS1-3 and then have people solo SS4 until it drops and get a /dzadd to loot it

    1h - Symp Mana options

Sicarria Auctus 220 - Defense of the City, the first TDS raid a guild has to do every week or raid cycle
Tarachi, Spellblade of Pandemonium 188 - Plane of War raid, if you have this, bought TDS and didn't change guilds recently it's going to be on the wall of your house soon
    Brilliant Sorcerer's Anelace 150 - because it's "only" a T2 CotF raid, not PoWar
Royal Scepter of Thex 150 - T1 CotF raid
    Peremo 150 - attunable rare
Battlecharged Blade 150 - Grandmaster in PoWar
Dagger of Sinister Waters 150 - Wiz Only, TDS named

So early 2015 anyone in a TDS raiding guild who doesn't have Folly one of the rarest items in the game with an absurd timesink to acquire outside of FV takes a very large Symp Mana proc penalty for the sake of frontal melee survival and still a fairly large hit even with Folly.

    1h - Symp Damage options

Possessed Dreadstone Evoker's Staff 900 - Raid version of Wiz RoF class weapon
Heartstave 675 - Evantil Raid, Molars die reasonably fast now if you can somehow get a decent number of people to show up
Oathbound Hammer 600 - T2 CotF group content
Gold Plated Koshigatana 216tap - Nagafen raid, not currently up

On the subject of Symp procs, the remote healing on Enc class weapon is painfully terrible due to lack of healing AA for the class, above and beyond the usual level of apathetic failure making int weapons.

    2h - Symp Damage options

Some TDS raid item 1500 - barring a change late in Beta or since
Siren's Tidal Staff 1350 - TDS group content
Fused Coral Staff 1350 - TDS group content
    Firemage's Staff 1350 - T2 CotF group content
    Bruma 1350 - attunable rare
Wand of Wanton Disease 1350 - T1 CotF raid, even with items on T2 CotF vendors that don't even drop there isn't a T2 CotF raid Int 2h

Plundered Sceptre of the Court 1200 - T1 CotF group content
Crescent Staff of the Shissar 1200 - T3 RoF raid
Ethercharged Quarterstaff 1050 - CotF tradeskilled item

So even if you are a Wizard with the raid version of the RoF class weapon there is a large Symp DD penalty to take for the sake of frontal melee survival concerns. A Mage or Enc gets a large Symp DD upgrade from a tradeskilled 2h item over any 1h they can use.

Necros - just plain screwed since the painfully obvious stick 2.5 focus on modern weapon, make it Nec only if necessary option is ignored for yet another year

Wiz/Mage - picking 1h/2h based on frontal melee survival instead of Symp is pretty puzzling priorities

Enc - check out those block parses and sorry about your RoF class weapon

This was a test vs t2 mobs in grelleth, not vs arena test bots which have no strike through. I was only reported actually blocked attacks (which is more valid data since it shows what is actually happening)
