Every year around this time Norrath becomes a bit creepier and crawlier than usual, with a number of seasonal tricks and treats as well as the occasional undead encounter. Here is a quick list of some of the events available in game. Go check them out starting October 19!

Under Your Skin: Illis Taberish in Plane of Knowledge is in despair. He is convinced that something terrible is going to happen. And with the Hallowed Eve coming, he is certain that whatever it is, will happen soon.

Candy and Costumes: Across the starting cities, candy and costume merchants open up their spooky shops to celebrate the season of haunting. Also, seek out Wicked Winnie and a wizened hermit in the Plane of Knowledge for additional sweet fun.

Trick or Treat? There have been scattered reports across Norrath of spooky happenings in the Kithicor Forest. People are trick or treating around Norrath. Vampires have been spotted roaming in spooky places. The Halflings are hungrier than usual and are craving everything pumpkin! A creepy bone collector requests help in collecting several rare bone artifacts. A great storyteller has arrived and is sharing some rather frightening fables—get your admission ticket today and hear them for yourself! For more information seek out Zigand Ribshard in the Plane of Knowledge. He has all the details!

The Trick or Treat Bag: Old Man Draykey will teach you how to trick or treat by showing you the proper greeting method. To practice, he gives you a trick or treat bag to go out and get candy with.

Bone Collector: Barsin the bone collector boasts that he can create anything out of bones.

Roaming Vampire: A Dressed-Up Halfling is running late for the yearly costume gathering.

Hungry Halfling: Mippie Diggs is hungry and craving pumpkin flavored food and drinks.

Story Teller: Cathil the storyteller has been telling frightening fables to scare the locals.

The Gravedigger: The Gravedigger in the Plane of Knowledge has a predilection for flesh—tattooed flesh. He has been digging graves for most of his life, all over Norrath, and he has amassed a collection of tattooed skin patches from corpses. But his collection is incomplete. He is seeking adventurers to help him with his obsession.

Necromancer's Garden: A crazed necromancer has recently snuck into Greater Faydark and spread some strange seeds about the forest. The seeds have taken root and are sprouting into horrible skulls! Leavalin Mossbite was tasked to hire adventurers to help stop a threat to the folks of the Faydark.

Scarecrow Roundup: Rongol and Anderia's farm in West Karana has been struggling, barely meeting their own needs and leaving them little to sell. Believing he figured out how the Millers have been so successful with their farm all these years, Rongol created a scarecrow but his effort was unsuccessful. This and forced him to take more drastic measures and he sought the help of a witch. Unfortunately, the magical powers of the witch were a bit more than Rongol and Anderia were prepared to handle. The couple is now needs the help of brave adventures.

Marta Stalwart in Toxxulia is baking pies to celebrate an old Erudite pie flinging tradition started by an angry wife who scolded her lazy husband by throwing pies at him.

Grom Shives in Nektulos is retelling the tale of the legendary ride of a dark elf warrior who swindled magic from powerful creatures, and managed to evade them in Nektulos as he returned to Neriak.

Silas Lightweaver is trying to put on a light show in Greater Faydark, but faeries from Lesser Faydark are running amuck, casting gaudy spells and disturbing his performance. Capture them, and release them back into Lesser Faydark where they belong.

Corporal Gravlin stands guard in Qeynos Hills as travelers from Qeynos attempt journey to Surefall Glade for a celebration. Unfortunately, the evil necromancer Pyzjn is causing trouble by raising undead to attack anyone passing through the region.

If I recall correctly, it was this one:

The Gravedigger: The Gravedigger in the Plane of Knowledge has a predilection for flesh—tattooed flesh. He has been digging graves for most of his life, all over Norrath, and he has amassed a collection of tattooed skin patches from corpses. But his collection is incomplete. He is seeking adventurers to help him with his obsession.

Doesn't look like there is anything new... Halloween used to be the best time in EQ, they really put a lot of thought into well-done, additional content. Sad to see they stopped... I guess people can do the old stuff on their alts, if they want.

At the risk of sounding like a senile old halfling, which I am, the Halloween event in EK circa 2001, when I was around level 25, was one of the highlights of my EQ career. I remember being incredibly thrilled at finding a 13 / 26 mace then the letdown when I figured out it was bard only and halflings sing like exploding frogs.

    Quick question Pie.

Are we ever going to see the return of the Undead (Skeletal Commander's & Skeletal Trooper's) in the Newbie areas? I have included a links for reference.

Spawned during EverQuest's fifth anniversary events in the spring of 2004, and made another appearance during Halloween Week the same year.

Formerly of the Butcherblock Mountains, East Commonlands, The Feerrott, Qeynos Hills, Steamfont Mountains, and Toxxulia Forest.

I seem to remember a giant bunny in kithicor forest one year. But I forget which one.

My wizzy got the robe that year from Rathe Mountains and my cleric got the bixie hollow rib which was an earring,,,,I still have both in their banks.

I agree that was a highlight of EQ, a real shame when they never returned.

Rowacorn and Yinla, yeah - I started August 2001 and that was the higlight for me as well. I went WOW with that event.

I got the bixie hollow rib earring as well and have been sad every halloween since that nothing similar has been done.

I remember that year as one of my favorite Halloween events too, from the undead in Butcherblock to the werwolves in the Commonlands. I still have screenshots of some of the encounters. One of the funniest things I remember is trying to get a drop with my newb necromancer and having people try to loot her while she was in skeleton form fd'd.

2001 was a fantastic Halloween and remains one of my all time favorite EQ memories/events. Back then I was on the Innoruuk server which seemed appropriate.

Rathe Mountains had a rampaging boss drakebone that left many corpses in its wake. The main path between zonelines was the perfect gauntlet run. The ambient sounds really capped everything with the laughter echoing in those mountains.

My main still has the items from that event in the bank.

Yeah art - that drakebone was on Erollisi Marr as well. I still have the list I made of folks I rezzed for the event. (It was back when I thought I'd never group with anyone but my husband and our two friends, so I kept notes for anyone else I came into contact with, not realizing the vastness of the game at that time in 2001).

Join the celebration, just don't plan on doing quests from illis taberish if you are 95 or higher, such as terror of illis taberish, will give you 'average group level is too high' text. I realize you can shroud up and do a lower version, but bleh :p
