Test Update 04/13/21 - Patch Notes and Discussions

    *** Items ***
    - Added Incense of Tranquility to the marketplace. This is available once Planes of Power opens on your server.
    - - Created teleport spells for wizards and druids that teleport to tranquility. These are sold in Shadowhaven and are available once Planes of Power opens. Look for Ealerel Tidebringer and Goesl Sealsonich.
    - Increased the duration of the 22nd Anniversary food to match that of the drink.
    - Fixed a typo in Prismatic Lance Ornament's name.
    - Removed class restrictions on some items that drop from discordlings.


    *** Quests & Events ***
    - Aaryonar Raid and Mission - Fixed an issue that could cause the 'Fiery Touch' and 'Flame Touch' buffs to drop prematurely. These buffs will now only expend charges when attacking elementals and should no longer fade before expending their charges.
    - Amalgam Arbiter Raid - The retribution spectres will now float up into the center of the room instead of on the other side of the ice wall.
    - Vulak'Aerr Raid - Fixed messaging about the root balls that claimed way more targets than would be affected.
    - Restless Assault - Changed the word 'axe' to 'weapon' in one of Narandi's messages because sometimes he's carrying a spear.
    - Unity (Anniversary Task) - Added a one hour request timer.
    - Guardian of the Sand - Corrected an issue where the task steps could be completed out of order.


    *** Spells ***
    - Enchanter - All spells in the Color Flux line now share the same timer.
    - Necromancer - Increased the damage done by Withering Decay, Sphere of Blight, Sphere of Withering, and Sphere of Dissolution. Decreased the damage done by Echo of Dissolution, Remote Sphere of Decay, Remote Sphere of Blight, and Remote Sphere of Withering. Increased the mana costs of the entire line.
    - Fixed a bug where group auras would not reapply if a player died, re-entered the zone, and was then resurrected within the area of the aura.


    *** NPCs ***
    - The efreeti in Western Wastes (CoV) will no longer death-touch their targets.
    - The razorgills in the Unity mission will now look like fish.
    - Audri Deepfacet in the Plane of Knowledge will now hand you the correct Legendary Jewel Crafting journal.
    - Milas An`Rev will no longer be able to be in the same place multiple times.


    *** Mercenaries ***
    - Fixed some missing text when hiring Othmir mercenaries from Iauld Atiqa in Plane of Knowledge


    *** Collections ***
    - Corrected an issue with collection items from Claws of Veeshan that did not have the Attunable flag.


    *** Progression Servers ***
    - Corrected an issue where out of era AAs could be purchased on progression servers.


    *** Miscellaneous ***
    - Fixed a typo in the name of 'Captain Alron Cuppboard' for the achievement 'Mercenary of The Western Wastes'.
    - Fixed an issue where some players would be stuck loading indefinitely when attempting to enter the world.
    - 22nd Anniversary achievements have now been added.
    - Officers can now take leadership of the guild with the /usurp command if no leader or senior officers have been online in the past year.


    *** UI ***
    - Corrected a typo in the /usurp command.
    - Corrected an issue where the Message of the Day would display each time you zoned.
    - Adjusted the position of the 'Not Scribed / Scribed' and 'Collected' labels in the Item Display window to not overlap with the tribute values.
    - Added weapon ratio to the Item Display Window.
    - - Added weapon ratio, damage, and delay to the Find Item and Bazaar search.
    - Adjusted the default column widths in the Aura Window to reduce the likelihood that aura names will be cut short by the aura slot value.
    - Pet hold and ghold now correctly keep their states after logging out of the game.

    - Removed the Anniversary Pack and Bundle that is no longer available from the marketplace.

    The EQ team has made tons of things easier, and less griefable over the past few years. But one GLARING bottleneck is still in Plane of Storms in the POP era. Lets do the right thing here and just add those mobs to the DZ on creation so POS does not become the nightmare it always does every pop launch.

    Was the ENC color line nerfed solely because of the level 60-era ae groups? Or was there also something about this line later on in EQ?

    After 22 years going to go ahead and nerf a core feature/ability of enchanters for little to no reason. Part of why I play EQ is that it has unique things that very few other MMOs do. Enchanter stuns and AOE groups is definitely one of those unique items. Additionally, it is not just for AOE groups, there are a few key encounters that rely on chanter stuns. The fact that it is randomly being changed is very disheartening to see.

    I know there will be opinions on this but I think the real question is why now? Let's focus on fixing stuff that is broke or inconsistent, not redefining core class abilities.

    If that was the case it does not really nerf it just makes it more annoying as you need two enchanters not one no big deal. They should just limit all AE spells 1-70 to 8 max targets. Would kill it off good and proper.

    It is very disheartening to have the AE stun nerfed. As it was stated above this is a core ability of the class. With not being effective with charmed mobs on raid bosses even 2 era's behind on TLPs, Having very low spell DPS, A dot line that is overridden by necro dots, Slows that take longer to cast, less effective and are shorter in duration to other slowing class. The Devs are well on the way to making Enchanters nothing more than a raid buff bot. If you are going to be crippling the enchanters buff them in another aspect. Mezes are great but rarely needed in the day to day Group or Raid.

    Necros already completely own both the short and long dps game. It's not even a contest. The best other classes can do is shoot for second place. Other than the possibility that some necro has some serious dirt on a member or members of the dev team, why on earth is their dps is getting amped even more?

    I'm not asking that they get nerfed. I'm just wondering what justifies this move.

    Yeah the enchanter nerf is bad and short sighted. Probably need to think through that one fellas. More than just the 3 months out of a TLPs life that people actually whine about this.

    Actually it's a MASSIVE nerf. If you read just under that what they did is they strongly reduced the damage of the Remote lines. These are the newer ones like 104, 109 and 113 level. The 113 went from an AE of what 140ish K before to 50is K now. The ONES they increased (the ones they stated in the first sentence), are the pathetic older ones that used to do like 600 damage or 1k damage per tic, and the 98 now is 10Kish.

    And greatly increased the mana cost.

    They bumped the lower level versions, and lowered the higher level versions. Its not a gain past level 98. So on TLP it will be a boost, but the dmg is quite low even for those levels). The 98 got a nice boost, but the higher ones got a large reduction.

    I am not saying its good or bad, just to correct the statement

    Since this basically makes the level 52 spell Color Slant useless, could you raise the level of the mobs the stun affects? Right now it looks like this:

    I do not support this. Every expansion should have a progression bottleneck. It's what makes the progression meaningful.

    Having your guild with 500 members popping picks and poop socking storms for a few days does not make anything meaningful.

    Literally NO ONE is against this change except for maybe 5 guild leaders who need to somehow justify their existence with stupid stuff like this.

    First you nerf ench charm, then you nerf a core part of their kit via pbae stun. Enchanters will become nothing more than a buff bot, sucks to suck if you're an ench main on TLPs i suppose.
  19. Skuz I am become Wrath, the Destroyer of Worlds.

    Bottlenecks to progression are against the core principle of why TLP's got AoC's from Phinigel onwards.

    If you want bottlenecks ask for & play on a no AoC TLP like Ragefire/Lockjaw.
