Info is sparse but they did confirm that no TLP's would be released with PVP or FV loot rules. That's all they know for sure right now.

I am "quietly optimistic", the thing that most intrigued me was EG7 has their own Marketing company and has run campaigns for other companies AAA games so they clearly know what they are doing as far as marketing games goes - which given how little EQ has been marketed over its whole life definitely makes me think this move certainly has a lot of potential.

EQ is their second biggest money maker. I don't see them screwing with it too much other than maybe to try to promote it.
I am in agreement with you. I didn't know anything about EG7 until I saw the news, and then checked them out. I am hopefully optimistic about the future.
The end is hardly nigh when we learn for the first time since eq2 launched that EQ is their most profitable game.
